I’ve just seen a monumental bug in this version. If you define a location for downloaded templates, it doesn’t keep it.
See screenshot:
It persists in staying on disk C: That’s not possible. My C: drive is quite small. This is intolerable. Se bug wasn’t there on 3.3.6. I haven’t tested 3.3.7. I installed the last one directly.
Does the export as button work with a different drive?
Ok, for some reason it had deleted the folder on my D drive having just changed the drive letter. I had to manually recreate the missing folders and redefine the location. And now it’s fine
Has nothing to do with the export button. This is the download location for modeles .
But anyway, I’ve solved the problem
Yeah, I didn’t clearly see this on the small phone display and thought it was the default output folder…
Uhmm, this is NOT beta. Its a finished product that has been sold and has been for a couple of years now. There are beta releases of versions, yes. But to call this whole thing BETA software?
Sounds like a comment specifically here to start drama. This is not reddit, please stop treating it as such.
Your post clarifies what I wanted to say earlier. It’s harder to clarify things when you’re not an English speaker. The fact that the proportion calculation is done with decimals is at least confusing.
Believe me, I have that issue, too, sometimes. I’m not an English native either.
Why is it no longer possible to combine IRIS for interlaced sources and frame interpolation to get rid of the “extra” or “doubled” frame?
Please give us back the option to select the output-resolution by height, width (automatically adjusting the other value), or scale.
This is no drama, this is the truth!
I also purchased this software as a ‘finished product’ but seems to be in a ‘beta’ stage with ‘beta’ testers…every week there are fixes, and seeing from 3,3,6 - 3,3,8 ‘re’ fixes needed…
And by the way, this is a forum and everyone can have his/her view on the product.
I have already raised the Iris and single frame rate for interlaced source in 3.3.6 issue, and ida.topazlabs said it would be fixed in the next update. We’ve had 2 updates since then (3.3.7 & 3.3.8) and still no fix. But hey, who’se counting? Meanwhile, Akila’s new tutorial - [Tutorial] How to Deinterlace and keep original fps - explains that you can still do it but have to manually set frame interpolation to the original rate.
I’ve seen an tested that. It works.
But this workaround kinda defeats the purpose of the gui as it adds steps to the process that simply should not be necessary.
For the time being I’ve gone back to 3.3.5
As long as all party’s keep things civil.
Back to 3.3.5 - me too!
Unfortunately, on the iris model, I have 3fps (RTX 3070ti) on a 430x270 file → scaled x4. Besides that, if the file has a different aspect ratio (SAR) than the display aspect ratio (DAR), the resolution calculation takes SAR into account, and therefore the cropping is no longer done correctly. I’m reverting back to version 3.3.5.
On my end, when I load a new file the custom size is present when the preset is used;
Can you share a screen recording? Oftentimes it is easiest to share a screen recording for issues like this to quickly show me exactly what is happening. I use Loom for screen recordings since this is a free and easy to use app.
Yes! This is so helpful thank you!!!
I was not able to reproduce this, the files were saved correctly and were not overwritten by the preview. Can you share a screen recording and your logs?

You need to use the save option or the edit menu to update a preset.
