This release represents a major revamp of preview comparisons, with a tab-based interface that allows for workspace customization. Using tabs makes comparing different model settings much simpler, and brings more screen real estate back to the playback windows.
Here’s a video overview of what’s new in v6!
Highlights
Tabs
We’ve heard your feedback and we want to make comparison, easier, better, and more intuitive. Tabs are self contained groups of settings. You can create them from scratch or use presets. They replace for our previous preview queue and A/B comparison mode. Now rendered previews are contained in each tab, and it’s easy to compare two sets of previews, or the original. Just drag the tabs to create the view you want.
Video player
Our upgraded video player has been available in Windows and is now coming to Mac. The video player supports HDR, audio, and smooth 8K playback. Getting high quality previews in app, has never been better. Note: HDR support on Mac is still in progress
Exports
We’ve revised the export queue to take up less space, offer more information about your exports, and make it easier to track exactly what you’re rendering.
Sources
We’ve moved the sources panel to create more work area. You’ll find it right below the timeline on the right.
Presets
The preset system has been refreshed to make it easier to find your favorite settings and quickly apply them across projects. You can select a preset directly when starting a new project. Presets are tightly integrated with tabs, you can create a tab from a preset, or save a tab to a preset.
Timeline
We gave the timeline a lot of love in this update. The upgraded timeline is faster, more responsive and has thumbnails to help you find what you’re looking for.
Live render
We’re making huge improvements to the live render system. You can render specific length chunks using the render button, and now it’s easier than ever to compare two sets of settings. Just switch into Side by Side or Split View, and press the play button to start rendering.
Other updates:
A new Preferences toggle is now available to enable/disable Cloud processing in Video AI:
The GUI crashed shortly after starting a processing when I grabbed the moving line in the Export panel. ffmpg was still running on. I opened TVAI again to get the logs for support when TVAI not aware of a still running ffmpg started another ffmpg to continue the task that run when before the GUI crashed. I reported all this during the beta. Here are the log files. Also the seperate Export screen is unneccessary and wastes a lot of space. I can not even drag and move the horizontal line further down. logsForSupport.zip (5.2 MB)
Ok, I have to post my first reply since TVAI v3, since this v6 version will finaly change my routine and habit working on TVAI. I see only “Sources” and “Export queue” on the right bottom left side of “export” options and click to display. No bottom panel for showing queues of previewing render clips (with 5s, 10s, 15, 30s), so I think it changed to Tabs on top video pane; the 3-dot button on the right side below tabs has different options from the original.
hope someone can help me, how to do this for single view comparison mode like how it worked in the older versions, the ability to choose which filter to compare, not just for #B but also #A. i think the newer version of TVAI has lost the ability to do that or i just cant figure out how. Now, Untitled 1 is compared to original, Untitled 2 is compared to original. What if i want is to compare Untitled 2 with Untitled 1. in other words, i want to set Untitled 1 as the new original to compare with Untitled 2 3 4, in single view mode. It was so easy in the older versions but cant figure out how in the new ones.
Downloaded V 6.0 this morning. One thing I immedeately noticed is that the software keeps rendering previews. In the earlier version it would stop and show the “unprocessed video”, which gave you an idea of the difference between the original video and the rendered video.
Is that gone or do I need to change settings. Can you bring it back if you took it out?
For me the new interface is just confusing, for example Premiere Pro uses different tabs for different sequences why cannot you do the same for different tab different video sequence?
