@Ange.topazlabs I can confirm that there is now a dialog box when you exit by hitting the X but it wasnât quite as detailed as I was expecting. I guess, less is more
@paul.t-uk - this black box was introduced/noticed in v3.5.0 and the development team is looking on fixing this! Happens on Windows, for a few messages such as "Are you sure you want to apply the AutoPilot changes on all selected images or yes when closing the app!
In your case make sure to use the export button when in plugin, at least this warning was added now to avoid you to lose all your edits
This evening I was using what I believe is an M1 Ultra Studio with Sonoma at work and the preview eventually renders after âhangingâ at this same spot. What happens if you wait it out?
@plugsnpixels - For Balance Color - make sure to send in the mountain photo to support@topazlabs.com and I can relay to the development team to see why this is default output this enhancement gives you. You can also set in Preferences a colder temperate as default!
For Crop and Super Focus, that is the expected behavior, Crop only processes on export. This allows for users that need multiple formats for socials for example to retain the full size of the file. You can go ahead and add a request in the Ideas Forum if you wanted to force a crop in-app. For now, you can crop ahead of Photo AI.
Glad that Upscale can get you the results at the end with only upscale for this one!
Have you rendered a Super Focus preview since the last coreML deletion?
If that is the first preview:
The development team is looking at the new optimization in v3.5.0 and up that yes makes processing faster, however it made the initial unpacking of the Super Focus model slower on some Macs, we had few cases flagged. This means the first preview will take time, and once that model unpacked in your coreML folder, the next previews will be at normal speed. The development team has an open ticket to look into this and I have added your contact info and will reply here once resolved! Make sure to be a a correct strength representing the level of defocus you have in the file, then launch a preview. let is run, it will eventually unpack all the files it needs and show a preview. Then test another file and the preview should be normal. If you prefer, you can revert to v3.4.4 which does not have this optimization issue.
If if gets stuck even once a initial preview was left to process:
Make sure to send us the logs to support@topazlabs.com and we can have a look.
The source photo doesnât matter, Iâve reported this on other random photos Iâve demonstrated before. Always yellow. Thanks for the Preferences tip but this is supposed to be an AI operation ;-). I still think generic Levels would be much more useful.
Iâm used to Photoshop cropping where you can choose to delete pixels during the process. Iâve also suggested this here before. This procedure would be really helpful when dealing with a lot of excess in the image that you do not want PAI chewing on, such as this (purposely) wide mountain scene.
As for Super focus, itâs doing wonderful things but is a generative tool and as such adds and subtracts details that are not in the original, as opposed to the Upscale models (for the most part).
@plugsnpixels
I havenât experienced this, but I only use these on pictures that need white balance adjustements, which doesnât seem to be the case here imo, but will bring it up with the development team! Preferences are to tweak the AI to give you the results you are looking for, it seems default for your needs is not the settings you want and best to tweak the preferences!
For the forced crop, I do not seem to have seen it in the Ideas Forum; make sure to have a post in there for others to vote on.
It would be to see if letting this first preview (can take some time) run, eventually unpacks all the needed files. Then it would show the preview. Then any other preview after this one should be normal speed. If that is the case, let me know and I can add your contact information on the open development team ticket for this initial unpacking, and contact you once resolved!
Every time I open my Photo AI app and upload a photo as soon as the photo is uploaded the system crashes out and shuts down after this new update. I tried changing my preferences to CPU but it is still crashing out. Any help would be awesome!
Is there no way of just right-clicking" on a thumb/preview (whatever we call it) and just select âclear adjustmentsâ?
I just opened PAI again after a bit of a âvacationâ from editing. Decided to look a bit more into saving presets as I canât seem to get PAI to always add just a tiny bit of sharpening to everything I throw at it âby defaultâ (or at least I canât find it in preferences).
I created a couple of presets with different levels of sharpening (and different models) and quickly discovered that selecting a preset just adds it on top of already made adjustments⊠meaning that if I then proceed with trying another preset it gets added on top of the previous one (unless I manually click away the previous changes).
This of course makes it even more tedious if you apply a preset on more than one photo and then decide you want to go for something else⊠(a lot of clicking there).
So - am I blind, or is there no easy way (except for closing and reopening the current folder) of clearing applied adjustments? And if that is true⊠shouldnât there be?
@michaelezra - good to hear! I added your contact information on the development team ticket looking to fix this initial unpacking of the first preview! Will circle back here and tag you once that is resolved!
@andrew.schwarz - seeing you are on OS 15, make sure to test this to resolve any crashes you are experiencing, and can go back to AI Processor to Auto:
