Since updating to the latest version of Gigapixel 8, it is crashing while initializing the image. Totally unusable.
Agreed. Have the same problem. Put any image in there and the App shuts down. This started with the 8.0.2 version and was working fine before that.
I have moved my Photo software to my Laptop. Now the latest versions of both software crash whilst processing. It appears to be at the point of ‘Up-scaling’ even if I have it set at 1x.

Gigapixel 8 stalls, crashes, and just does not function. I have waisted my time and money trying all different settings, communicating with others having the same issues, etc, etc.
How irresponsible of Topaz Labs for putting this untested garbage for sale and taking peoples money. They advertise that they respond within 4 hours or better, they will issue refunds no questions asked, etc. BS,
Send me a refund. POST ON YOUR WEBSITE EXACTLY WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO GET A REFUND.
Its been a couple of days with no response from Topaz. Get real or get out of the business.
oh - btw, I have a 1 year old Dell with and I7 multi core processor, 16 GB of ram, and 6 GB of video card ram - so its not my machine that the problem
Gigapixel AI 8.1.1 opens and then closes. reinstalled, no change
i cant even use it, it crashes during the process, i am trying to 2x an image

I get the impression that it is because my laptop doesn’t have a big enough video card.
Same here.
Hi ! gigapixel always crash when :
• when I want use generative model in local
• When I want to export image
Hi.
You didn’t say which Operating System you are using Windows or Mac so, here’s a possible solution for both
Windows
Mac
Hope this helps
Sorry !
iMac 2017 4,2 GHz Intel Core i7
Mac OS 13.7.5 (22H515)
Sorry for Redefine your Mac isn’t compatible here, are the specs
For MAC:
-
macOS 13 or higher is required for Recover
-
macOS 14 or higher is required for Redefine
-
Recover is compatible with Intel Macs that have AMD Radeon graphics cards and at least 8 GB of VRAM
-
Redefine is not compatible with Intel Macs and requires Apple Silicon with at least 12 GB of system RAM
Ok for those information..
Now, what about the always crash when exporting ?
I’m not a Mac user myself I did read something about needing an Intel CPU with AVX instructions but, yours is a 2017 chip so, I would assume that’s not the issue
The only thing I can suggest for now is rolling back to a previous release you know that works allowing you to continue working and contact Topaz Support directly here’s the link
