WRITTEN STEPS: Open a Finder Window, then find the GO menu at top, then GO TO. Then paste this: ~/Library/Application Support and delete the coreML Folder. Then retest the app.
Important: Use the path with the tilde sign, like this one ~/Library/Application Support
Send us a screenshot at support@topazlabs.com of the folder you are in if you cannot find it. Make sure to use the ~ sign, and it will bring you to the correct place. Macs have 2 Application Support folders, and you will have to be in the correct one to delete this folder.
The development team is investigating this core folder issue and we will post here once a permanent fix is done that will not require to reset this folder.
If you still have issues after the coreML deletion, make sure to send us an email to support@topazlabs.com with details on what happens, if the standalone works, screenshots if you get errors, etc. and we can investigate further with you!
Topaz Photo AI crashes within seconds after launching the software. Downloaded the newest version, but that didn’t solve the problem. The software asks for a login or activation, but crashes before this can be done.
Steps to reproduce issue:
Step 1: Start Topaz Photo AI
Topaz Photo AI [v3.4.3] on [Mac]
MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max
macOS 15.0.1
That did work. Thanks for the tip!
I will never understand, why I need to watch a 1 minute video instead of reading a one sentence instruction on how to do such things. But it worked.
I did this but it doesn’t work for me. Now I’ve installed the last 4 proviso versions and they all crash and I’m in the middle of editing a gallery.
@katie.jackson-7712 - Seeing a support ticket for which we sent steps on how to resolve your issue. Yours would be different as you have missing models and Bernd was having a coreML folder issue that happens for some users on OS 15. Make sure to test the steps we sent on your email on how to install your missing models!

Thank you so much! I am happy and impressed with the great service. I used Hitpaw for awhile, but you guys are so much better and your tool is like magic! I am revitalizing photos from the 60s for my mom’s 70th birthday and it is astounding what your tool does.
Welcome to the forums.
Please follow the protocols and upload your log files and full specs.
Does it work in standalone mode?
I have an M4 Mac mini as well. I don’t use PS but I do use the PS plug-in with my own editing software and it works fine.
I am having the same problem. When I try to apply any filter to my image, Photo AI crashes. This happens both going from Lightroom classic or opening the photo directly in Photo AI. Using MacBook Pro, Apple M2 Pro chip. Sequoia 15.1.1 with 16GB RAM. Particularly happens when I try to Recover Faces.

I am merging everyone that has this issue here, to make sure everyone sees the workaround at the top, and to be able to reply to all of you at once, when the permanent fix is released
Topaz v3.4.3 on a Macbook Pro M4 Pro crashes when using Super Focus after updating to the newest Topaz version. A temporary fix is to set the AI Processor to CPU in the settings. Maybe this helps with other 3.4.3 problems as well
