Topaz Video AI v4.0.5

Sorry if this question has already been answered but I wanted to know whether the HDR is now supported? I remember when V3 came out it stripped the HDR out and made it look worse than SDR, I did see an option for High10 on H.265 but has anyone tried HDR recently? Thank you.

Bug:
Dynamic bitrate (medium) when saving with H264 results in a bitrate of only 3600 kb/s at Full-HD which is much too low. The bug has existed for a few versions.

Just click on 2, back to 1 and then hit preview. That worked for me once…

Rotating video is all over the place.
When videos import the picture is rotated correctly but after exporting its flipped. When you try to rotate them… nothing happens.

Sometimes the videos already imported rotate when selected. When you fiddle around with the rotation option and go back they go back to normal.

I think that is generally considered a medium quality in that context. I think its too low as well, but I’m sure its been called medium in many other applications. For social media, with low movement it is probably enough. Not sure if its a bug or not. What would you expect it to be the bit rate for that preset?

HiYa, again. After going through countless of users’ feedback for TVAI, here and other outlets, it was once mentioned by staff (early this year I think) that TVAI still doesn’t support the industry standard for TRUE 4K enhancements/reconstruction’s colour space, BT2020 (???) but staff has also claimed (again… early this year) that their injection for BT2020 is in TVAI’s pipeline.

But, here we are just in a few weeks from entering 2024 but from my findings, BT2020, or any useful colour-grading other than BT709, is still MIA and staff still fails to PR where there current status is on one of the most requested features on TVAI’s board from all their handlers (clearly, for obvious reasons) that, IMO, should’ve been deployed moons ago.

Ironically, though, there are other video’s editors (that’s waaAAaayy less expensive but very efficient) has supported BT2020 for ages. I just don’t know, folks.

Just made another attempt.
Low results in a file size of 7072 kb (4800 kb\s)
Medium one with 10474 kb (7900 kb\s)
and with High it is 42328 kb (30000 kb\s)

I would expect a little more with Medium, the difference to Low is too small and to High too big.

My 4090 FE doesn’t perform so well using gaming drivers. Thier studio drivers work better. It’s important for the end users to understand this. I enjoy the product, it’s buggy still, but appreciate the devs.

I was thinking of upgrading from a 4080 to the 4090 but wondering if there is a big enough percentage increase in speed when using Video AI, on paper it should be at least 50% faster but we all know the specs don’t live up to expectations.

Depends on your CPU and memory speed, they may drag down the performance increase and in my case, I’d need a new motherboard, new DDR5 RAM and an absolute top end CPU plus upgraded cooler.

Also, have you looked at 4090 prices lately? Here in the UK, they are up by 15% to 20% in the last few weeks wheras 4080 prices have remained much the same. The 4090-4080 price gap now exceeds the performance gap IMO (except possibly for those with top top end CPUs etc already) and I’m sticking with my 4080/DDR4 system for the long haul.

My CPU will be able to handle it but just curious if it would be worth the investment or not but I see what you mean, I checked online and the average cost of a 4090 was £1,668 for the cheapest model, now its £1,799. I suppose I could wait until the 4090Ti or 5000 series and upgrade to DDR5 at the same time, gives me close to year.

Error: Incorrect display of width Prioritze Height

The width of the video files is now calculated and saved in the correct format.
However, the width in Windows 10 Explorer and in Topaz Video AI v4.0.5 still displayed incorrectly.

No problems here, even on that nasty 5x setting.

In all honesty, I been paying for my upgrade yearly since before the name change of the program. This is the 1st year I couldn’t renew the upgrade license, even with the Black Friday sale, $129 USD is a lot for me in Canadian (almost $200), and after playing around with other software; As much as I like TVAI, I can’t justify such a steep price for upgrades either. I do understand that there a cost to development, and major creators and video production companies will pay that cost. Unfortunately I’m a hobbyist and video editing enthusiast who does this in their free time for fun and personal use.

Is this done with Iris-V2 ?
There are still alot of things to do with this KI:

-Preventing Alien Faces…double Eyes or teeth…sometimes letters or wrong letters when they definitely look different…like here the VW-Logo looking like Loch Ness Monster “Nessie”.

In this case you have to choose a different KI…and Iris-V2 can´t be used for official production purposes…changing to other KI´s in different scene is still not possible…but other things like “Addons” no one asked for…also the “Live Preview” is still waiting to be back…

But Iris-V2 is giving the most visual improvent at this time but can only be choosen for private purposes where no other would ask…why are there suddenly those Alien Faces or the other things like weird looking checkered T-Shirt wobbling.

It seems we are still at the beginning of KI and we have to wait for a better Iris maybe Iris-V3 that is under current development(i hope).
