Topaz Video AI v4.0.5

EDIT: Not much like the VW logo it should be now, is it! AI isn’t much good when it invents stuff randomly, especially when the human eye can see what the AI does not!

HiYa.

I’ve noticed when TVAI release any new features (or major… ahem… major “fixes”) over the years, at most times, it is a witch-hunt for… potential… buyers to find any useful material (video or heck, even ~7-second quality loop, how long would that take to upload, at anytime, staff) for “promoted” feature(s)/updated versions.

e.g. Dynamic Bitrate 3 tiers. Where’s the BEFORE & AFTER - VIDEO - results compared to the OG Constant Bitrate?

I mean… why only text its new features only when a short video clip could speak for itself, eh?

I understand that each model, PC/Mac config, ect. will bring different results but c’mon! SOMETHING is better than NOTHING and it could go a very LONG WAY as a blueprint for any user, enthusiast or professional.

For any user that has implemented Dynamic Bitrate in their process, is there a NOTICABLE difference (to justify the Dynamic’s ‘High Setting’ that induces up to 5x [or more] of the OG’s filesize that most users are claiming) vs Constant Bitrate? If so, could you please show the differences here between the two processes?

WOW!!! Well done!

Whatever you did between 4.0.4 and 4.0.5 fixed my problem with Video AI getting stuck on ‘Downloading Model’ and not working.

This has been happening between 3.1 and 4.0.4, so its MEGA that now fixed in 4.0.5! Maybe you could tell the developers as I would hate this to revert back to not working in the next update.

Use ANYMp4 first to see the metadata is correct and not a time of 00:00:00
If the file is corrupt than use Kernel Video Repair which asks for a proper video with a proper container than it will repair the corrupt file c0ntainer and then your files will always load with your model
Topaz is very picky about containers and correct metadata even if it exports it might sometimes suddenly slide half the video Again first give the input file a proper treatment whith one of the tools

Hi,

Not too sure if comment is meant for me? I’ve been using the same test footage which is not corrupt. The problem HAS been that Video AI has been refusing to download the AI models, 3.1.2 was fine, after that it would not work until finally it works again with 4.0.5. It might have something to do with Apple’s Private Relay function, who knows.

Prior to that I had a problem with weird formatting of the video when upscaling and deinterlacing to HD from a PAL 16.9 DV. I sorted that by selecting Square Pixels. So now all good.

Thanks, Charles

Why in topaz 4 the previews do not appear during the proccess?

Just a guess, but I think it’s from the mountain of complaints against the previews in TVAI 3. I believe they have said they will enable it again once they rework it.

4.0.3 give me on dione for removing interlacing, give me 28 fps. 4.0.4 and 4.0.5 gives me 9 fps with the same OS and hardware. so something got horribly wrong in the latest 2 updates.

Instead them improving the software, they spoil it…
live previews do not exist anymore, there is no processing stop in previews ,

pause processing should have been added to both live previews and export.

What upgrade is this?

When is the Apollo Fast fix coming? It’s been over 10+ updates  It still adds still frames, make sure to check it through After Effects, but don’t forget to set the composition values to 120FPS
