Topaz Video AI v3.3.2

AV1 encoding is only available on RTX 4000 series and Intel Arc GPUs. Which GPU are you using with Video AI?

I am using a GPU AMD Redeon RX7900XT.

Chronos does not cope with such scenes at all, blurring details.
But it doesn’t make such brightened squares.

In the beta version and today the ProRes HD 422 output settings automatically jump to the ProRes 422 prosy version.
Urgent solution needed.

Hello, this update has broken my Topaz Video AI installation.
After the update it is not possible to open VAI!
I deinstalled and installed several times VAI 3.3.2 with no success: VAI won’t open.
Window 10 is actual and the Nvidia driver is also up to date.
Interesting: I tried then after deinstall 3.3.2 to install all earlier versions of V3. The all didn’t open after install.
The only way was to install the old 2.6.4 version. And from then I upgraded to version 3.0, which is working. I tried then to update from 3.0 to 3.3.2. After update same result as before: VAI don’t open.
I stay no for a while with the old 3.0 version, which I again had to install via the old 2.6.4.
After the several deinstalls I made sure to clean registry and not deleted folders.
So, there is not the problem. The installs were all ā€œcleanā€.

How can I solve this general problem? I never had such problem with Topaz apps all the years.

Only processing speed depends on the video card? Will there be the same video quality at the same TVAI settings, when processing RTX 3060 or RTX 4070?

thank you.

I don’t understand why setting multiple processes causes an error in processing.
I’m running it on two PCs and both have the same symptoms.
I solved it in 3.3.2, but I think the cause is in the program of this software.
The most stable was around 2.6.4. I think TVAI after 3.0 is still unstable. I guess I’ll just have to wait patiently until things get better.

I’m always testing, how to get v3.3.2 work on my Windows 10.
I found out, there is nothing behind the desktop behind the Video AI button. Normally on all the software/app buttons I can e.g. select start with administrator rights. This is missing if I click right on the VAI button.
So I switched to the programs folder to tried to start from there VAI. Nothing happens…looks like a dummy exe-button without any functions.
Same with 3.3.1…same behauvior.
@Administrators: could you please give/send me a special link for a working V3 version.

Did you download and install the Windows version from the first post in this thread?

If you didn’t, download and install using Admin rights, preferably turning your Antivirus off at the time.

@AiDon
Thanks for advice. I made it on your suggested way without success.
I tried it with 3.3.2, 3.3.1 and 3.3.0. VAI don’t open after install.
The only newest version is 3.2.9 which works.
I tried several times to update from 3.2.9 to 3.3.2 without success to start VAI.
Here I also started 3.2.9 with administror rights.
Also I deactivated my Antivirus software.
So beginning with version 3.3.0 there is something ā€œinsideā€ which prevents to start after install.
Do I need special Windows/Microsoft (Windows 10) ā€œpacksā€ to get it run?
As I before said: Windows and Nvidia (also Intel) is up to date.

Ida - I would have thought Support and Logs for the problems on version 3:3:0 are now redundant as we have moved on two more versions?
The problems occurred on two of the three jobs running on version 3:3:0 and, following the loss of two of them, I have since started using latest version 3:3:2 and the first (of the two failed jobs) now seems to half way through (remaining 28 Hours) - and I must wait and see if it continues to completion, and also if it starts the second of the two failed jobs from 3:3:0.
And also as it now seems to be able to do Stabilization - Deinterlace (25i) Auto Field select - Apollo Fast (locked to 25p) - Iris (Auto) Upscale 4x - GRAIN 5 SIZE 2 - ProRes HD output (Auto Audio).

Hi there, this is not a known issue and appears to be an isolated incident. Please reach out directly to our Support team (Topaz Labs)

If this issue is still occurring with v3.3.2, please reach out to me directly via support (Topaz Labs)

Hey there, it sounds like your preferences were reset. We cannot reproduce this locally. Can you please reset the ProRes selection and try again?

I’ve had the same exact problem in 3.3.1 and 3.3.2.

I turned off the ((Replace duplication frame) and it helps remove the additional frame jitteriness

The video does not have duplicate frames, so the option was disabled.

I don’t know any other software companies that have updates once a week.
Thank you for working on the issues and I enjoy the product.
