Topaz Video AI Beta 5.0.0.0.b

Am I the only one here who does not get the functionality of saving and opening projects?

The save project dialog prompts you to save as a *.tvai file:

image

However, the open project dialog expects you to select a folder…I would expect it to ask for a *.tvai file!

image

Anyone?

We talked about this already…LOL

Having the “Queued” issue here as well. After running two or three previews and clearing them out, run a new one and it says “Queued” even though it’s the only thing there. Have to close and restart to clear that.

Image sequence output fails

Of course not. Project management is a messy. There are so many inconsistencies that it would take a long time to write them all down. I guess the developers know this, because they are obvious. I have only pointed out some aspects, those that I considered most relevant.

I think this version is far from ready for release next week.

  1. Saving project: No feedback, but updates file in project.tvai in ~/Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Video AI Beta/Workspaces

Can verify this ^ in windows as well. No clue where mine is going however… I check the appdata folders and saw no tvai temps.

ALso, very first movie I went to do errors out with nyx v3 and aion.

EDIT Finally had time to go look. They going to: C:\Users\ITSAME\AppData\Local\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Video AI Beta\Workspaces in winderz

@tony.topazlabs Is there a possibility that a newer version will be used soon? what version is being used in this beta?

@tony.topazlabs Apple uses Intel and AMD Prior too M1 .Windows uses AMD OR Intel for CPU.Graphics Can Be AMD ,Intel or Nvidia.Mac Uses Metal or OpenCL .Apple M1+ are like the AMD APU Processors…
If VideoAI has two seats VideoAI on same company Can Render Like Adobe Media Encoder and Process Enhancements in conjunction with Computers running the same app if chosen.

@tony.topazlabs Installer needs work 3 Plus hrs to instal program.

Was this install time for the MSI download or for the actual installation?

Video AI’s installer does not pull files from any servers during install so we expect install speed to be almost entirely dependent on disk speed.

There’s definitely something wrong with your system if that’s true!

Still use the 5.1 version?? Very disappointing… :dotted_line_face:

Lat time I tried to figure out the version like that, I got a very custom number. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is really 5 though.

Let’s see if @gregory.maddra can comment! Maybe they are using a custom FFMpeg build and the version number of 5.1 is not accurate…

We’re using an ffmpeg build that is very close to the 6.1 release. Our current build has changes through 1/11/24.

We update ffmpeg regularly so you can expect some of these changes to make it into Video AI’s ffmpeg bundle soon. Our build will not line up exactly with the numbered versions that ffmpeg announces since we pull specific changes and rebuild with our models enabled.

For example, our current build is up-to-date with 6.1 but also includes these changes made after that release was tagged:

  • LEAD MCMP decoder
  • EVC decoding using external library libxevd
  • EVC encoding using external library libxeve
  • QOA decoder and demuxer
  • aap filter
  • demuxing, decoding, filtering, encoding, and muxing in the
ffmpeg CLI now all run in parallel
  • enable gdigrab device to grab a window using the hwnd=HANDLER syntax
  • IAMF raw demuxer and muxer
  • D3D12VA hardware accelerated H264, HEVC, VP9, AV1, MPEG-2 and VC1 decoding
  • tiltandshift filter
  • qrencode filter and qrencodesrc source
  • quirc filter
  • lavu/eval: introduce randomi() function in expressions
  • VVC decoder
  • fsync filter

Was on Mac when installer running.

iMac down loads normally faster then windows.

Thank you for the detailed explanation!

But… so is this version of yours close to 6.1 already in this beta? Or will it come with the next versions?

This is the current ffmpeg in this beta and in 4.2.2 main release.

I’ll try to start including upstream ffmpeg changes in our changelogs, but we will not always have new ffmpeg changes in every build.
