Video AI v5 includes significant usability improvements including:
1. Workspaces
Video AI now keeps a library of active previews and exports, allowing for project-style organization.
Your app workspace will be saved and reloaded to pick up sessions exactly where you left off using the same preview files.
2. Pause/Resume for Exports
You can now pause and resume exports in Video AI.
Prioritize different queue items on-the-fly, start up a different project, or even switch to a game without losing render progress.
Even after system reboots, power loss, or unexpected crashes, your export sessions can be restored.
Paused exports are saved to disk, freeing up all CPU and GPU utilization.

4. Nyx v3
Nyx 3 improves the consistency of denoising across a wider variety of videos.
The accuracy of the auto-parameter estimation has been improved, and the sharpen control has been restored.
The model no longer sharpens by default, significantly reducing the unnatural grainy texture ( orange peel artifacts ). The figure below illustrates this issue in Nyx 2 and the result from Nyx 3.
I donāt understand how the save/load project feature works - when I have a source media loaded and hit save project, nothing seems to happen and when I go to open project, it just opens the source media folder, there is no project file to open.
Also, this box, which I think is supposed to be the pause/resume button, is not displaying anything other than a white box which makes deciphering itās purpose difficult:
It needs to be fixed to show a proper pause/resume symbol.
There is no notification I can see on the GUI when a project is successfully saved, leaving me to wonder ādid anything happen?ā after hitting save.
It seems the application is saving projects by default to C:/Users/Username/AppData/Local/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Video AI Beta/Workspaces/project.tvai - but there is no mechanism to change that location in the preferences.
Edit: after playing around I still have no clue as how to use the project feature.
I havenāt got that far yet! - Iāll let you know.
For now, hereās another minor issue, the message is not consistent with default. I reset all my prefs after setting them and seeing this, to make sure it wasnāt something hereā¦
Iām on Macos Sonoma 14.4.1 and canāt preview nor export anything cause the program says that there is not authorization to write on disc. Tried various settings with no luck. Tried also to reinstall TVAI many times or/and update from the last beta (4.2.2.1b) but the program refuse to start. Is there a solution? Thanks in advance.
Hi, there are some issues, but I think you are yet aware of that:
Workspace management: the app donāt restore previous environment.
Saving project: No feedback, but updates file in project.tvai in ~/Library/Application Support/Topaz Labs LLC/Topaz Video AI Beta/Workspaces
Open project: No way, nor opening Workspaces folder. I think the save step need to save project in a subfolder of Workspaces but the app donāt do so.
Export restore: Perhaps related to previous issues. If I closes the app simulating a crash when export is running, when I restart the app, the export process donāt show.
