I think it’s not too expensive, if this works with founder license then it’s fair and I do auto renew my two license every year. On this way it’s a win for customers and Topaz Labs, because they have no additional costs when customers uses all apps, but they loose money if people don’t renew the license uses it as liftetime, comes into the forum and demand support for their old versions. I think it was badly communicated from Topaz labs how this works.
In return, however, I also expect useful support when I pay every year better bug fixes. I mean, it should also be easier for Topaz if they have more long-term users they can focus on the latest versions running smoothly, because that becomes more important when more users works with latest.
Also, if the customer cancels they loose out as well because, there’s no coming back with this incredible deal they’re have to resubscribe at a much higher cost and they’ll loose the benefits Pro Models, 300 Credits and Locked in Price.

I had the same issue with fresh install of 7.1.3. Support team come back with the workaround to uninstall 7.1.3, install 7.1.1 and Starlight mini, then update to 7.13 and install Starlight mini.
Do these photos mean I have an active auto renew subscription to topaz video AI? I think I do because it shows a next payment date, but I want to be sure.
The words “auto renew” (I mean virtually all payment sites I go to nowadays shows “auto renew” enabled if that is the case) but those words do not appear anywhere where I click…. It just shows what credit card was charged in 2024.
With just this license and assuming it is auto renew…..
What do I get and how do I buy studio? The website I am seeing has wildly different pricing.
I understand about the two apps with auto renew and you get the full studio with pro additions….. as a part of founders edition
But I can’t figure out how to buy gigapixel and how much it costs.
I have sent an email and done the chat requesting this information with no response so far.
I think this is a great deal!
But it shouldn’t be this hard to figure out.

If you want a “founders” subscription price for the full Topaz Studio, buy a perpetual license to Gigapixel for $99 and set it to auto renew. That’s what I did.
According to Eric Yang, the annual “founders price” for Topaz Studio is $163.

I downloaded and installed Topaz Photo and Topaz Gigapixel yesterday, but was stymied trying to login by server sluggishness and then the fact that my account still hadn’t been transitioned.
I’m half-afraid to try anything now, anyway. I’m in the middle of a project with a deliverable deadline, and am sticking with versions that have worked well for the past six weeks - Topaz Video AI, nVidia driver, etc.
Too many reports of things breaking, unexplained slowdowns, producing sub-par results compared to previous models (Starlight Mini, after getting it going on AMD & Mac)
I’ve even forgone the latest beta - I can’t afford a jobstopper that messes up my October 8th deadline.
I finally muddled my way through everything and got studio 1.0 downloaded.
I opened it and it opened directly to topaz video and I assume this is because the only application I have loaded is topaz video AI and it sensed that.
I have left Topaz video AI 7.1.4 loaded as well
Saw all the models in place….plus let me download starlight and starlight Sharp.
I guess it’s no longer called starlight mini.
I ran a quick test of starlight sharp and it was faster…. Not by a whole lot but faster..
One thing I did notice was that starlight sharp did not default to the same dimensions that starlight mini would. It instead would default to more of the actual size of the file than the 1280 x 740…etc
And I wonder if that’s where they’re getting their speed increase….. They’re working with smaller dimensions than starlight mini would default to..
Going to try to get this set up on my Mac tomorrow then I will download some of the other apps in the studio that I might actually use like a photo and giga pixel. I am really curious how they implemented starlight mini on the Mac.
Mac says my current system hardware can’t be used for starlight in this new version of studio?

EDIT: after some research, it appears that I am just plain out of luck.
It’s total system memory that’s the problem.
I have 24 on this brand new M4 Mac mini Pro… seems the system requirement for Starlight is 36 yet they make vague reference to it “can be lower.”
Nope, starlight says no way Jose!
And apple solders on their memory…. There is no way to upgrade..
To make matters worse… they don’t even offer a trade-in value to a higher memory system as they don’t have trade-ins on “current models.”
I guess I’ll just have to wait till the next iteration of Mac mini’s come out…. Or maybe starlight will refine itself enough to allow 24 gigs of RAM to work fine.
Sometimes I hate my life…..
But I have to tell you that this little Mac mini is the finest piece of computer hardware I have ever owned…. Bar none. Incredible power for the size and totally silent…… so I’m not gonna feel too bad.
