Yeah completely scrubbing the files from my pc and reinstalling worked.
A pity I had to do so, but it’s all good. ![]()
Glad that fixed it! It’s an issue that has existed for a long time. Sometimes the program doesn’t update/remove old files causing random issues. I wish that would get fixed. It’s a pain to have to delete all the files.
What did you change to go from .5 FPS to .8 FPS? 5070 Ti owner here, also.
I had to to a complete removal and fresh install in that case.
It’s annoying but there was no other way to make Starlight work.
I don’t have a clue why that particular video was rendering .8 fps. Like I said in my post, all I did was downsized the original video from 1080 to 768x432 and it happened. The initial video quality is good to begin with so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it (I doubt it). The other projects that I am doing all render at .5 fps.
ok 768x432 source, but what exactly is the generated output resolution?
The output would be 1280x720. I don’t use that though because that was just an experimental video for an example for someone. I can’t use that 768x432 resolution with my projects because the vids get stretched. I actually use 720x540 downsized from 1728x1296 (exports to 1280x960).
I ask Topaz for whole body skin recovery, exactly the same like for face, with slider.
To have perfect reconstruction ↔ creative slider with 100 units
Can somebody please fix the “upgrade from within the App"-Bug on MacOs, PLEASE!!!
In 80% of the times, Topaz crashes, it’s really annoying!!!
ok I have tested and the same speed with my 4070Ti
640x480 to 1920x1440 → 0.2fps
640x480 to 1280x960 → 0.5fps
720x520 to 1280x960 → 0.7fps
768x576 to 1280x960 → 0.8fps
As closer the difference between source and output resolution is, as faster it is, but also as lower is happenings reconstructions. 2x looks better than 1x and 3x better than 2x
It’s crazy because I only get .5fps with my 720x540 files. The numbers are all over the place.
I wonder if I should try using the 520. I can as long as it isn’t going to get stretched a lot.
Maybe side factors, I have a Ryzen9 7950X3D 16-Core and my CL30 OC RAM is running @6000Mhz + my Asus 4070Ti OC 16GB TUF is known as best card of the 4070Ti segment
Yes I agree, I have a 12 core computer. I tried all of those and they all get .5 on mine. The card is 16gb vram but there are obviously so many different factors involved. ![]()
I would like to ask Topaz dev team:
Let Starlight Mini generate almost instant preview (even first 5 or 10 frames) when in quick export of Starlight Mini and not force me to way 10 minutes to see anything.
Also, please improve whole human skin surface recovery. Not only face.
In v7.0.1 it was still an issue. When I want to do interpolation I just install v5.3.6, the latest reliable one in that aspect. I don’t even bother to try again with newer versions until it’s confirmed that it’s fixed.
Does anyone else see a strong “bloom” or “glow” effect in pretty much all starlight mini output they get? The higher quality the source is to begin with the more apparent it becomes.
I know the model isn’t designed for higher quality video, and the bloom and glow probably serves some psychovisual purpose, but the model could also be used for getting the best results possible on medium quality video, beating Proteus easily if it weren’t for the glow that makes it look like everything is filmed with a light layer of gauze on the lens.
You know you can go the Export Queue and see each 8 frame set being produced at a time? And clicking on the preview shows the comparison with the original frame?
Yes, I’ve experienced the glow as well. It’s one of the many reasons that I don’t use Starlight Mini for anything at this point.
running a finisher over it e.g. Iris MQ or Rhea eleminates glow and blure, that’s the reason why it can have such a big impact sample but it is more invasive than it could be, better is they give us Starlight fine adjust/tuning options.
I know this was brought up a previous thread, but:
I was encoding a 16 hr SLm job yesterday and the circuit flipped and shut down my PC. When I booted it up and opened TVAI, it started at the place it had left off (about 12 hours in). So that means this software can stop and then pick up where it left off. Yet, there’s not option to pause a job and not lose progress. Why?
