That’s correct. You’re also locked into your existing price for the 2 upgrade licenses ($163 max), which is significantly less expensive than a new Studio subscription.

So, basically someone like me who had TPAI and TVAI is screwed as I would pay 248$ per year (99$ TPAI + 149$ TVAI) plus taxes → nearly 300$ per year :face_with_head_bandage:

Not such a great deal that is - and anyone that bought your more expensive products earlier isn’t rewarded but punished for that? Really?

Yes, we had to raise our system requirements on the Studio products. I used an Intel Mac up until a few years ago and I get it, but most of the larger models we’re developing these days just aren’t compatible. Sorry about that.

One thing that might help: Studio does include unlimited cloud rendering for image (and included credits for video), which is accessible from your non-Studio apps or https://app.topazlabs.com. This would be much faster than local processing on an Intel Mac anyways.

You’ll pay $163 max - we hard cap it just for this situation.

Opening Photo AI for the first time, the introductory screen just repeated itself over and over again, and clicking the X link did not close it.


Eventually it did resolve itself, but it was annoying all the same.
Ditto with Gigapixel.

Confirmed in Gigapixel (macOS Tahoe). How did you get rid of it? Quitting and relaunching repeatedly did not help.

If those two applications have active Auto-Renewal Subscriptions activated then, the answer is YES you will have access to the full Topaz Studio and if you continue to subscribe with your Auto-Renewal active your current renewal price will remain the same for as long as you subscribe.

I still do not have auto-renew. If I enable them do I still will have access to Studio? Last date is extended to 26th. right? Or is too late for me for this.

I have all 3 product, but without auto-renew. Someone can confirm for last date for enabling auto-renews? (active to 20.11.25)

Yes you are correct September 26th and Yes if you enable Auto-Renewal Subscriptions you’ll have full Founders Topaz Studio access.

I asked this in the other thread but haven’t gotten a response, so I’ll ask it here:

So did I just do the right thing here? See below.

I had 3 active subscriptions going > Video AI, Photo AI, and Gigapixel.

I cancelled Video AI but kept my other 2 subscriptions going (they don’t renew until mid-November).

Does this mean with my remaining 2 subscriptions (Photo AI and Gigapixel), I’ll automatically get the full Studio package (including Video AI) as long as I continue to keep the remaining subscriptions on auto-renew?

Just want to make sure I didn’t make a mistake by cancelling Video AI auto-renewal.

Yea you just need 2 subscriptions to get the whole Studio package. Earlier in this thread it’s been confirmed that regardless of which subscriptions you have, the renewal price will capped at $163/year, which is the cost of the cheapest combination of Photo AI + Gigapixel AI.

Also I got this email less than hour ago which spells some of this out.

The transition to Topaz Studio is currently in progress and will take a few days. For now, there’s no action you need to take. You’ll receive an email notification once the account transition is complete.

Notes on active licenses

Customers with active licenses to our desktop apps will have immediate access to the equivalent app, but not to the rest of Topaz Studio until the account transition is complete. See below.

  • If you have an active Photo AI license, you have access to Topaz Photo.
  • If you have an active Gigapixel license, you have access to Topaz Gigapixel.
  • If you have an active Video AI license, you have access to Topaz Video.

What is Topaz Studio?

  • Topaz Studio is our all-new subscription that includes all of our desktop and cloud apps, unlimited local rendering, unlimited cloud image rendering, and monthly video cloud credits.
  • You are receiving a free upgrade to Topaz Studio because you are a Founding Customer who currently has active licenses in more than one desktop app.
  • You will not be charged to renew your Topaz Studio subscription until your last current upgrade license ends.
  • Your Founding Customer price is locked as long as your subscription is active.
  • You will maintain access to your existing perpetual license(s) throughout and after the transition.

Does “Founders Topaz Studio access” include all local models, or will some local models be pro-only? (or otherwise gated behind something other than Founders Topaz Studio access)

This is so complicated and confusing, what with 3 active renewals having to cancel one to get the lowest rate, etc.

Why not make it so 2 active auto-renewals = Studio, 3 renewals (Photo, Video, Gigapixel) = Studio Pro.

They both come out to around the same discount anyway.

What? No Pro studio for 3 auto-renews? If I cannot doing starlight mini local I am out.

Just to confirm, after messaging with support - they have said if you didn’t set your subscription to auto renew before September 16th then you do not qualify for any discounts and will not be grandfathered in to the special pricing for Studio. I don’t know why they are advertising the date of September 26th and trying to get you to buy more products - as according to support this does not qualify you for any Studio discounts. The date for that was Sept 16th and its already been and gone. This whole thing has been exceptionally confusing and seems like a terrible way to treat your existing customers. At the very least you could have told us we needed to adjust to auto renew before the 16th.
