@Tostanica-fezanamu - replied to your support email, let me know when you can reply on that email thread!
Do you have a MAC Intel or Windows computer with that AMD card? If Mac Intel, AMD card cannot work with SUper FOcus, this is mentionned here:
- System Requirements | Topaz Photo AI
- Super Focus | Topaz Photo AI
- For Intel Macs, they are underpowered for AI Processing and will not be able to handle stable diffusion models like Super Focus. The cloud is available in v3.5.0 now and you can render images that need Super Focus on the cloud if you wish.
If it’s Windows, can you send your System Profile to support@topazlabs.com and we can have a look! How To Obtain Your System Profile (Windows)
@z1nonly - I can add a feature request!
for the “Allow generative AI” on/off slider, it will be to toggle on/off both Super Focus and Remove Tool. Some users would find this useful if they have a underpowered machine and do not want to see tools they cannot use, and also for users participating in competitions where rules state no generative AI allowed, can disable these to make sure they are not used.
So what is “support for floating licenses” and how does it relate to this release?
I think the feature most people asked for was the ability to disable cloud rendering.
I don’t have a problem with this (generative AI) toggle existing. But it’s listed under “privacy” as if using generative AI models effects our privacy. If the models actually run locally, they shouldn’t have anything to do with “privacy.”
Intel Mac,
But my GrahpicsCard AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT (16GB) works perfect with SuperFocus before!!!
They have disabled the Render-Button in the latest PhotoAI Version ![]()
Please bring the Support back! Because AMD Radeon Pro 5700 XT (16GB) is working perfect!!!
Hi Dakota,
right, but (and this is I think @z1nonly 's point) why does a switch under “privacy” disable local (ostensibly already private) processing, regardless of whether it uses generative models or not? I don’t know much about how AI works but I assume that when using the local models we aren’t training (and does this mean we are training when using cloud-based models)?
Thanks
There are Cloud options now for both GAI & PAI. I don’t use VAI.
(BTW, I capitalize Cloud or put it in quotes b/c I worked for telecom giants and a telecom think tank and was active in IEEE 30 yrs ago when my company coined the term to make it seem exotic & something regular ppl could grasp the concept of vs the networking intricacies the PhD electrical engineers I worked with dealt with - I mean how many ppl want to understand routers and metro Ethernet, etc.).
I am a mere user of the products. And, try to be a tester of and advocate for other users with systems and processing needs similar to mine. I have to believe I’m not alone in my requirements… In a best of all worlds situation, meeting such requirements from many users would contribute to success.
I don’t know what the issues are wrt to getting, for instance, AMD GPUs running on Win 11 to handle the newer “beta” models locally in a real-time responsive way. I do see that around 3x as many Win installers are downloaded for each release. I don’t know if it’s a lack of partnering, lack of ability to code products to work optimally with AMD GPUs or development staff spread too thin or what. I have no visibilty to that nor control over that. I care what my usage experience is. And, as someone without a paying job, I don’t want to be spending on Cloud credits.
“Enterprise users can now disable tracking, generative ai, or cloud rendering”
There is no option to disable cloud rendering under the privacy settings or anywhere else.
First of all, why just enterprise users as opposed to ALL users?
Cloud rendering is a simple privacy issue. It should be an option for everyone.
Super Focus was disabled for any Mac Intel AMD cards after v3.3.0 after discussions and tests, no matter how much VRAM you have, it takes too long and creates issues on processing issues. If you want to keep using SUper Focus locally you can revert to v3.3.0. Photo AI v3.3.0 | MacOS Installer
i too am without a paying job .i am rretired and i do sports photography of hurling, camogie and ladies football which are the national games of ireland for the benefit of the young people that play the games. i do it without pay as i am a fan of all 3 sports .i want to be able to process my images on my pc and not spend money on cloud credits .
This is for Pro license, where the floating licenses can be reassigned by the admin.
I have added a request for the development team to add the ability to completely turn off cloud processing in personal licenses as well.
You still can, click on Export as normal and you can continue to process locally, nothing has changed for this.
Thank you, it adds some privacy assurance
Why is generative ai an option in privacy? I get the impression that the ai models themselves are privacy issues. The opaque, roundabout way they are listed as a privacy option instead of cloud rendering is very curious.
No, I don’t want to revert to an older Version!
Please bring back the Option to use it anyway with AMD Cards!
I need SuperFocus for my Daily work. But don’t want to use Credits or an older Version! Before it was disabled it works perfectly with my AMD Card! The Quality was Great and the Speed was great, too!
So please bring back this Option to use it on AMD
Advice that says “use an older version” when users are paying to get access to updates is… questionable. If in internal tests you find that there are issues then a warning to the user would suffice.
Generative AI, should not be an option in privacy, because the common understanding is that the models do whatever they are doing… locally.
Applications like image AI and video AI that handle potentially sensitive content, copyrighted content, etc etc should be unambiguously private.
ahhh, thank you very much for the quick response! That makes WAY more sense to me now. =)
