Thx @Ange.topazlabs for the heads-up to the patch in the prior release discussion forum. A number of us were looking not for batch processing but to see if the Text Preserve repeating suggestion would be addressed.

Darn it @david.123 . Second!

Sadly, this nips the grammar discussion in the last forum in the bud.

Just installed rel. 3.4.4 (Win 11).

Question: The Pref for ā€œPreserve Textā€ is set to ā€œStrongā€ by default. Is that the best level recommended for the model vs dialing it back to ā€œNormalā€? I have different models set to different levels (for instance I typically set DeNoise to Less), so am curious.

Thx.

The default should be Normal for Preserve Text, I tested on my side, Win 11, and reverting to default the Preferences is set to Normal, not Strong. Let me know if you get a different behavior!

Sorry David I didn’t manage to answer your last reply. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thx Ange!

I won’t Reset to Defaults just b/c I don’t want to go through and reset all my ā€œtweaksā€ā€¦

But I will change the setting to ā€˜Normal’ for Text Preserve just b/c it sounds more like it won’t go nuts and create halos or anything too creative.

I appreciate the reply!!!

No go on supporting the A1 ii at the raw level yet? I know I can convert to dng and use, but would like to eventually do as I used to. Still the Error: DNG write error.

On macOS Sequoia 15.2, the app consistently crashes immediately after launch. No error messages or indications are provided. This issue also occurred with version 3.4.3.

Win 11 desktop PC. Ps 2025 Plugin (File > Automate).

Just tried an image with lots of text in it. I’m not seeing multiple suggestions at lower right for Text Preserve like I was in the prior release. :crossed_fingers:t3: Seems okay.

@rusu.gaby - This is being looked into for a permanent fix, happening on some OS 15, in the meantime, delete your CoreML folder and it will fix this issue, steps here:

I’m paid up on upgrades through August - there’s still time!

I just noticed an awful bug. :frowning: I am not sure if this is new to 3.4.4 or it has been around for awhile.

Here is the before denoise screenshot (notice the colors):

Here is the after denoise screenshot (notice the colors):

Why is there a color change of this sRGB JPEG when just doing a denoise?

Does anyone else feel like almost every release is 1 step forward and 1 step (or 2 steps) back? :frowning:

@Tostanica-fezanamu - I cannot replicate this with a JPEG on v3.4.4 on our side. I tested it and there is no color shift, nor was there any color shifts in the prior versions. Can you send me the file to support@topazlabs.com and we can test it?

I emailed you the sRGB JPEG (straight from camera JPEG).

Hi, I just tried a screen snip of your original image to see what happens on my system. Granted, I’m Win 11 and looks like you are a Mac…

I used the current rel. PAI both as a standalone (and as plugin to Ps 2025) and did a ā€œNormalā€ DeNoise only (using Split View).

In both versions (standalone and plugin) the colors didn’t change from the original to the denoised result. I’ll include a snip from the standalone in split view (right side is processed, left is not) below.

PAI removed noise with the DeNoise (Normal) slider at a relatively low level. Though the jaggies in the image weren’t addressed. Is it a very low res image? It didn’t help that I was working with a snip too. But the snip seemed to retain the vibrance of the Before image you posted when I snipped it.

I just tried it again on the same photo and this time there is no color shift. As you can clearly see in my screenshots above though there was in that earlier run.

Why would PAI be so inconsistent? Will a run later today go back to color shift?

I didn’t mention in the earlier post the other weird thing. It recommended Preserve text. Huh?

All screenshots reduced to 1000 pixels on the long side.

Yeah, there was a clear color difference in your post above. No doubt!

Often I’ve found that I have quirky things happen if I install an update then immediately start processing images. So, I’ve gotten in the habit of doing a computer restart after running an update - to let the program settle in and acclimate itself to its new home… Typically, I don’t get one off behaviors when I do that. (Knock on wood). :wood:

As for the Text Preserve suggestion, you just didn’t realize how smart PAI is. It sees the hieroglyphics that could represent ancient cuneiform text in the shapes the straw forms.

I’m a user. Not staff. So just sharing my experiences.
