Topaz Photo AI v2.3.1

same problem, locking up on detecting faces, intel hd graphics 630

Uninstalled the buggy version 2.3.1 and installed version 2.3.0 again which is slow but working at least.

The software won’t go past detect faces.

I’m also on Windows 10, with Nvidia Quadro RTX 4000, and have no such issues.

Just loaded 2…3.1 Photo AI and as a stand-alone app it halts on face recognition (Auto Pilot) and goes no further. Simple JPG and a smaller image too. The image has some color in it but is primarily a warm monochrome. Uploading here too.

It does work now! Thanks for fixing it!

Please include the new standard/high fidelity v2 models in the default AI model preferences. V1 is still automatically picked if we choose high fidelity in the list.
This makes the new models unusable in batch mode.

Have you tried to reboot your computer after the update? It might work…

If you give people all the options, they will leave bored.

Even a few hardened AI artists have now stopped generating because it wears them out.

But it will take some time.

In my opinion, there is a big AI bubble because it is often not clear what it can do, how complex it is and how much it costs.

Or better efficiency.

By both writing a more effective code and using the hardware more effective.

Here are the outcomes of brainless AI use cases.

I’m glad someone did a test. I’ll be able to update

again these ā€œSUBJECT-MASKā€

ok its only for shapening but its confusing that its not for face-recover too!
ok, let me explain why its more usfule to use the mask also for face-recover.
in some cases eyes or mouth are very bad recoverd because there are slidet or already good and only the skin texture should be recovered … so i need a mask to avoid that face recover do all

I just tried your photo in TPAI, and presto chango, it updated in two seconds on the first pass.

Thank you for this. I’ve been having my doubts about Meta for some time now, and your first link finally helped me take the decision to leave everything Instagram/Facebook for good.

I’m afraid getting my contacts to leave WhatsApp (I’m sure is Meta is gonna find a way to do the same with your WhatsApp content eventually) gonna prove a bit more difficult but I cold just stop posting pics there…

@anthony.lawn I see no place to load Camera Profiles.

Hi,

I’ve held off updating to 2.3.1 b/c of the crashes in 2.3.0 & not seeing any items in changelog relevant to my Win 11 system or processing workflow. (Also due to a number of Face Recovery issues comments re: 2.3.1).

My PAI 2.3.0 Ps plugin didn’t crash when I finished painting with the Remove Tool (as your fix comment suggests). It crashed a few seconds into processing after the overlay was in place And I’d clicked on the ā€œRemoveā€ button (in Win 11, Ps 2024 plugin via File > Automate - AMD RX6800 XT).

Before I update, then must uninstall and wait for a very long install time (which is typical…), Was the issue I’ve just described above fixed? Or, was it just a fix to the standalone & preventing a crash as soon as a user stops painting with the Remove overlay color?

Also, is a fix needed to Face Recovery in 2.3.1?

Okay, based on the subsequent comment to mine below, I will hold off updating until issues are corrected…

Thx!

The app now hangs in autopilot when running in photoshop/automate, cannot load model file error is experienced intermittent but regularly, and produces nowhere close in quality to 2.3.0 and the processing is 5x slower than the previous release .

I have been impressed with Photo AI until this update. For me the update has made the program nearly unusable with multiple reworks to produce an image as least as good as the one I am trying to clean up or enhance. Please fix it. Until its fixed im going to downgrade the app, what should be a 5 minute workflow is taking over an hour for 1 image.

I have rebooted and it is failing on all attempts still. Standalone and plug-ins not working either hangs on face recognition still. Worked fine with 2.3 version. So I tried uninstalling and re-installing and it still fails after several reboots!!
