I’m having the same issue. I downloaded the newest version and still the same. I have to position the mouse a bit above the buttons to activate. Never had this issues until 3.1.0 was released.
Schauert, I’m gratified to know that it’s not just me!
Hello @david.towler and @schauert-54869,
Circling back with you about the misalignment issue.
If the misalignment issue reoccurs, if this applies to you (this specific toolbar setting), here is a potential fix for now, that could fix your issue. Lingyu, our Technical development Manager found this after testing on a user’s computer.
Can you test and let us know if that fixes the issue for you?
Let me know how that works.
This does not work. My taskbar was always set to locked at bottom.
I hadn’t had time to try it yet. I’ll take it on faith that schauert and I share the same issue/results.
Just finished down loading the newest update and now the mouse is really off on the Y axis. Can’t even use the program the way it is. The mouse on all other programs on the computer works.
Steps to reproduce issue:
- Step 1
- Step 2
- Step 3
Topaz Photo AI [v1.x.x] on [Windows/Mac]
I am finding that Photo AI 3.1 architecture doesn’t fit my HP Compaq LA1905wg display. The top of the Photo AI window falls immovably about 1/2" below the top of my Desktop display and the bottom of the Photo AI window falls immovably behind the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. Dropdown submenus do not appear in Photo AI until I set and click the pointer slightly “above” the Dropdown instead of on the Dropdown. The Export action button is always nearly concealed at the bottom of the screen by the taskbar with only the top edge appearing above the taskbar.

Hi John/Topaz et al.
I’ve looked at the latest fix and agree with others, this doesn’t work. Also, in my case, turning off the hide taskbar interferes hugely with other applications as it covers buttons/settings that I need access to in my daily workflow. I often run Topaz in the background when working in other apps during the workday, so this isn’t a great solution for me. I certainly CAN do this after hours, I guess, but ultimately, it’s still a case of “things worked fine before the update” and this probem only occured after the latest update was installed. Ergo, it’s ‘you’ not ‘me’ that’s the issue here, I think. My preference would be for you guys to diagnose and resolve this issue and send us a new update patch that fixes it. We’ve been at this nearly a month now… is there a resolution in sight? The program is very difficult and inconvenient to use at present with this issue gumming up the works. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks.
Version 3.1.3 no difference same alignment issue with this new release.
This is the 4th version in a row (ever since 3.0.4) where the screen is shifted down about the width of the mouse pointer. This is both the standalone and plugin versions of TPAI running on my Lenovo Windows 10 machine. There is a need to click above any menu item in order to select it.
Topaz Photo AI [v3.1.3]. on [Windows.
Topaz AI - V3.1.3 - The application window is not aligned with the monitor screen. There’s a gap at the top of the screen. When you go to press a button (like “X” for close window) you have to position the mouse above the screen button to activate. This seemed to have started with version 3.1 and still is present in the current release.
I’m running Windows 10, HD4000 graphics adapter. This has been running fine until the last couple of releases. The application is becoming unusable.
I am also having the same issue since version 3.0.4.
There is no “Topaz AI”. Be more specific please!
Sorry this was posted in the Topaz Photo AI support group. I thought that was known…
Topaz Photo AI V3.2.0 still has a problem with the alignment of the screen with the mouse. There is a gap at the top of the display about equal to the size of the taskbar at the bottom of the screen. I have to position the mouse pointer above the desired button to activate. Can you please take a look at this< it’s been a problem sine V3 was released! I have to go back to an older version. Right now there’s no reason to renew my license for this version.
I’m a bit disappointed by Topaz’s lack of response/resolution to this issue. I’m the one (one of the 1st) to raise it back on July 13th, over a month ago. Many others have written in to raise the same issue. I’ve not seen a Topaz response for ages and the problem still persists. WHEN are we likely to receive an update that resolves this? It’s going on about 6 weeks now. Clearly it’s affecting more than one person.
I’m also still seeing the problem with the vertical miss-alignment of the screen with the mouse after updating to Topaz Photo AI V3.2.0. It’s been a long time with not word on the status or seeing a fix. I too am quite disappointed in the lack of a fix. It’s a very annoying way to try to use the tool.
Additional discussion on the problem with the vertical miss-alignment of the screen with the mouse is under the following discussion topic:
Program opens off center on monitior
Screenshots are included in some of the postings showing the behavior.
When I open the program there is a gap at the top of the screen and some of the toolbar at the bottom is ( obscured ) off the screen. All the buttons only work if I tap slightly above the button. I uninstalled and re installed he program but it’s the same. No other programs are having this problem.
When I open Topaz ai there is a gap at the top of the screen and part of the bottom is obscured off the screen ( can’t even see the export button ) . Also the cursor doesn’t work unless I click slightly above the button. I cannot drag the screen to realign it. This is not happening on any other program. I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice and cleaned the registry before reinstalling.
