Hi, just hopping in to say that I am having the same issue and this fix didn’t resolve it. However, downgrading to Topaz Photo AI [v3.0.0] (as stated above) did work.
This appears to be an issue with our current updates and our developers are working on resolving this issue in future releases. Thank you for sending in that information and please keep us in mind if you ever decide to look for editing options in the future.
What a pity ! we are still waiting for you to solve this bug !
I’m sorry I did the recent update. For me to now use Topaz AI, I have to open the program itself, then find the file I want to work on, save it, then import it back into LRC. I hope they fix this soon.
Topaz in my opinion has lost its way. They are no longer focused on customer service and user experience. Also the app runs slower and slower. It used to be an app that did one thing well and was easy to use. No longer.
Thanks for that information. I have added this information to a ticket that our developers are currently investigating. I will be sure to reach out to you once we have more information regarding this problem.
I have tried the newest version 3.01 and it will not finish after you send the adjusted photo back to Lightroom classic - I works fine as a stand alone but not as a part of Light Room like it used to
Let’s try to reset your Lightroom plugin to try and get it working for you. You can follow the directions below to reset your Lightroom plugin:
- Close Lightroom fully.
- Run the Topaz Photo AI installer again. Get a new one from the downloads page: Topaz Labs Downloads
- Open Lightroom and check the File > Plug-ins Extras again.
If it does not, open Topaz Photo AI, go to the menu bar on the top, and click the ’ Help > Open Log Folder ’ menu option. You should be able to attach the whole folder to this email to send to me.

Did not work after 1st try - just spinning-

I installed the latest 3.02 version and every thing was back to normal and working fine

That did not fix it for me - that’s when I got the Error Code 6.
Downgrading did fix it.
I have to ask, given all the problems with the Lightroom integration, do you folks actually have that as part of your pre-release testing criteria? Not being snarky here, but wondering why it’s an ongoing problem.
This all worked fine in the 2.x era, so not sure why it’s suddenly become a problem
Edit image from LRC/PS, Topaz Ai not closing App, PS/LRC showing a spinning globe, have to force quit Topaz. After Force Quit the updated image is loaded into LRC. I also noticed the the app does not recognise faces 100% These images are not badly exposed and do have contrast
LRC Version 13.3.1
ACR 16.3.1
PS 2024 25.9.0
Topaz Photo AI 3.0.3
Mac Studio Somoma 14.5
64Gb Ram
Steps to reproduce issue:
- Step 1
- Step 2
- Step 3
Topaz Photo AI [v1.x.x] on [Windows/Mac]
Still an issue for mac version 3.0.4. Nothing helps. I see error code or Topaz hang.
Last stable version is 3.0.0.
It’s frustrating. I’m glad it’s not only me, but why this topis is closed?
