Batch processing on Windows 11 on 4.0.2 crashes randomly. The program will stop, showing the last edited photo forever. Usually stopping it manually, closing it and restarting with a new session from the last image it will carry on, till the next crash. Often though it will ask if I want to resume from the last session, which instantly crashes the program every time. Using png images, RTX 4070.
Hello,
We are currently investigating an issue with batch processing on the latest version on some Windows machine. For now, please revert to the previous version.
Photo AI v4.0.1 - Windows: Download
We will reach out here once the issue is resolved.
Thank you,
Having the same issue on windows with both 4.0.2 and same issue is showing on 4.0.1 as well. Any ideas? Thanks for your help on this!
@jim-5320 This means something else is happening in your case.
I see crash reports that show your computer only has 0,1GB of VRAM, this will be problematic doing batch processing as Photo AI needs 60 times more memory, it needs 6GB of VRAM. You can test forcing Photo AI to use the CPU/RAM, in Edit > Preferences > General > AI Processor, CPU. The behavior on this underpowered machine will remain slow until you can get one with the minimum of 6GB of VRAM needed.
I’ve been trying to process 991 CR3 files to JPEG using the AI Automode for the last 36 hours. It processes about 10 to 15 photos at a time then glitches. It says it is processing but just sits and spins, the blue bar doesn’t move. I have to pause processing and restart processing in order for it to process. It has also crashed numerous times. This is something that should have taken my computer about 6 hours to complete, it takes 15 to 20 seconds to process a picture. I’m now on over 36 hours and only 400 pictures processed. I could have been done already using Lightroom. Is there a setting that needs changed? Any advice would be great.
I am using Windows 11, AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core Processor 4.30 GHz, 64.0 GB (61.6 GB usable), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
Hi Benjamin.
There’s an problem with Topaz Photo AI 4.0.2 and Batch Processing the current advice is to Rollback to the previous version 4.0.1 until this issue is resolved hopefully with the next release
Here’s the link for version 4.0.1 for both Windows and Mac
