- Step 1 open lightroom, rt click mouse, click edit in,
- Step 2 choose either a) Topaz AI where I used to, it opens the programme for about 2 seconds flashes what it thinks it should do, then does not give me a chance to do anything. the programme disappears and it send a file with edits it wants, not what I want, to lightroom
- Step 3 choose b the new arrival on the list " Edit in Topaz AI exeâŠ" it then asks if want to edit with Lightroom adjustments, I click edit. THis time I finally get a programme but now it says " some files need to be re-downloadedâŠ" ? Still waiting for the re download of this single file over ten minutes later, it has hardly started. I have given up I can not seem to use this new upgrade and I canât access the old version.

Letâs try resetting your Lightroom plugin to start with the troubleshooting process. Please follow these directions below:
- Close Lightroom fully.
- Run the Topaz Photo AI installer again. Get a new one from the downloads page: Topaz Labs Downloads
- Open Lightroom and check the File > Plug-ins Extras again.
After you have done these steps let me know if the plugin is working again.

If it does not, open Topaz Photo AI, go to the menu bar on the top, and click the 'Help > Open Log Folder â menu option. We will also need to get a better understanding of the machine you are using with Photo AI, to do so please send in your full system profile information:

Hi John. I was able to download the file at 2 oâclock this afternoon it took almost 2 hours. I then tried the Repair button, but gave up after about another two hours when I was on file 30 of 126. Then I uninstalled the program because I didnât have an option of just installing. The only two options were repair or uninstall. I then went back to install the program⊠126 files later, And over three hours and it finally downloaded. Thatâs all just an FYI. It works fine now. The trick was to uninstall, even though it was already on there and then reinstall⊠so someone doesnât spend over five hours trying to get this sorted out. Sorry itâs been a long few days fighting with the computer. Thank you so much for getting back to me so soon , too bad I couldnât have started this this morning, but I had an appointment⊠thank you again for your help. Hi, iâm afraid iâm having the same issue re Photo AI as a Lightroom plug in, after reporting the same issue a few days ago i was advised to re load a previous version of PAI to use in lightroom, i did this and it worked ok, now after installing updates yesterday iâm back to the same position of not being able to use PAI as a plug in, when i try to use the plug in extras option i get this message, âTopaz Photo AI either failed to start or did not finish successfully, Exit code 3221225477â so it seems weâre back to square one with this particular issue.

When I try to edit a photo from Lightroom CC to Photo AI version 3.3.0, Photo AI opens for about a second and then shuts down. I have tried it in version 3.2.0 and it works fine. But in version 3.2.1 and higher, it crashes every time. I am still able to send a file to Photoshop and use Photo AI 3.3.0 successfully.

I updated the driver. Restarted my computer. Same issue.
Photo AI flashes open for less than a second then immediately shuts down. I tried it in both Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic. It does work when I send a photo from Lightroom to Photoshop. I can then open and edit a photo in Photo AI and return to PS then to LR.

It will help to know what exactly happens when you use the File > Plug-in Extras > Process with Topaz Photo AI, if an error appears, I suspect it would be an error 3221225477. If this is the case, we have an open ticket with our development team so I can add your information and send the proper workaround.

Thank you for continuing to work on this. The error code from Lightroom Classic is as you stated. Lightroom CC does not give an error code. It just flashes open and immediately closes. I have attached all the log files.

Hi Harald. While youâre waiting for someone from the Topaz Support Team to contact you, in the meantime try this quick workaround.
The next time Lightroom fails to send the image to Photo AI simply open the Photo AI app as a Standalone now, return to Lightroom and use the Edit command again to send and edit the image within Photo AI
