[RESOLVED in v3.4.0] - Lightroom Plugin Error - Exit Code 3221225477

Let’s try to reset your Lightroom plugin to try and get it working for you. You can follow the directions below to reset your Lightroom plugin:

  1. Close Lightroom fully.
  2. Run the Topaz Photo AI installer again. Get a new one from the downloads page: Topaz Labs Downloads
  3. Open Lightroom and check the File > Plug-ins Extras again.

Let me know if those steps get it working again.

Topaz Labs Documentation | Topaz Photo AI | Plugins | Lightroom Classic

If it does not, open Topaz Photo AI, go to the menu bar on the top, and click the ‘Help > Open Log Folder’ menu option. Please send in all the files located in this folder.

You can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Make sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.

Dropbox File Request

Leider hat das nicht geholfen, weiterhin erhalte ich die Fehlermeldung:

Topaz Photo AI either failed to start or did not finish successfully.

Exit code: 3221225477

Ich habe Ihnen den Order der Log Dateien über Dropbox geschickt.

Genau das gleiche Prozedere habe ich vor Wochen schon mal durchgeführt. Leider habe ich keine Antwort mehr erhalten.

Viele Grüße

Harald Conrads

Unfortunately this did not help, I still get the error message:
Topaz Photo AI either failed to start or did not finish successfully.
Exit code: 3221225477
I have sent you the folder of the log files via Dropbox.
I did exactly the same procedure weeks ago. Unfortunately, I have not received a reply.

Best regards

Harald Conrads

I have just realised that Photo AI regular and beta and Gigapixel AI would not open from inside Lightroom classic. After much uninstalling and reinstalling i found the error Exit code 3221225477 when trying to run from plug in extras, using the response above by replacing the 3 files in program files i was able to get Photo AI to work but Photo AI Beta and Gigapixel AI are still not working, My lightroom is up to date and so are all the topaz programs, i am on windows 11, please advise if i need to start a new thread in Gigapixel AI to try and resolve this

I have exactly the same issue. The temporary fix seems to work (for now at least) for the PhotoAI plug in, but doesn’t help with ‘Edit In’ for either PhotoAI or Gigapixel.

Thanks for confirming it’s not just me. i was pulling my hair out trying to sort it.

[Please describe your issue here. Try to include logs (Help → Logging) and add screenshots if necessary.]

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Step 1
  2. Step 2
  3. Step 3

Topaz Photo AI [v1.x.x] on [Windows/Mac]
I ran several Topaz updates. When I go into LC plugins and click on Topaz AI it blinks on the screen but does not connect. It produces an image as edited in LC but did not get into Topaz

Please send me your system profile information so I can check if your computer hardware is up to date.

I have the same issue Lightroom would not open Topaz Photo AI or Beta, Or Gigapixel AI from the open with menu, (lightroom says preparing file for editing and then nothing) all other plugins work ok, I uninstalled all three and just reinstalled just Photo AI and tested and it worked, I then reinstalled Gigapixel and They both stopped working. next step is to uninstall them all again and retry different combinations, It’s a PITA as it takes so long to reinstall
EDIT after testing i know my issue is related to Exit Code 3221225477

[Please describe your issue here. Try to include logs (Help → Logging) and add screenshots if necessary.]

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Open Lightroom Classic (latest version)
  2. Try ‘Edit In’ (with either Photo Ai or Gigapixel)
  3. The expected options appear, TIFF file is created, but message AgStoreProviderSession:getEntityByID: ID must be a number or string on first attempt. No error message on subsequent attempts to do the same. TIFF file is created each time.
  4. If opening PhotoAI plugin (no similar option for Gigapixel) Exit Code 3221225477 comes up.

Topaz Photo AI [v3.3.1] on [Windows] Gigapixel 8.0.1

When I try to export a picture by clicking the right mouse button and chosing the option to open it in Topaz Photo Ai, it makes a copy of the picture, but nothing more happens. When I use the menu and using the way to open the RAW FIle in Topaz, it opens the picture, but the reimport to LR does not work:

I have also experienced the error code [Exit Code 3221225477] when trying to launch the Topaz Photo AI plug in from Lightroom Classic following the last version release. I picked up on this post and downloaded the three .dll files mentioned in this thread which had resolved the issue for now.

Presumably the next release will resolve this. For info I’m running on a Windows 11 laptop and all my RAW files (Cannon CR3) are kept on an external drive.

I have the same issue with getting error “Failed to process photo. Topaz Photo AI either failed to start or did not finish successfully. Exit code 3221225477”. I am using Windows 10 and Topaz Photo AI [v3.3.1] and now even on v3.3.2 which was released today.
Steps to reproduce issue:

  • Step 1: select a photo in Lightroom Library
  • Step 2: File>Plug-in extras>Process with Topaz Photo AI

This is not true … I have the same error when working with local files

I have been having this problem since Sept. I try every new update and always have to go back to 3.2.0 to use Photo AI. I wish I had known this before I paid for another year of updates that I can not use. File>Plug in extras>Process in PhotoAI> error #3221225477. Very disappointed that this has not been resolved after all this time!

I have the same problem as everyone else with this error code. Its only happened since the updates. Is there any sign of this getting fixed. I wish i hadn’t done the updates but i trusted the software.

Hi, has there been any resolution on this error or we should revert to 3.2 version?

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention; while the team works on this problem to be addressed in a future patch release, we have the following fix to help with this immediate error:

  1. Download the openssl.zip file by using the link below:

  2. Download Link | openssl.zip

  3. Go to your Downloads folder and extract the openssl.zip file.

  4. Copy the following three files inside the folder:

  5. aiengine.dll

  6. libcrypto-3-x64.dll

  7. libssl-3-x64.dl

  8. Navigate to your Photo AI found at the following path:

  9. C:\Program Files\Topaz Labs LLC\Topaz Photo AI

  10. Paste those 3 files into the Topaz Photo AI folder.

  11. Run a test to ensure that Photo AI opens as a standalone application.

  12. Open Lightroom Classic and try using the plugin.

If this does not work for you, you can either work offline, use Photo AI as a standalone application, or revert to Photo AI v3.2.0 - which will not have this error:

Thank you very much John. This solution worked for me and now I can use the photo AI plug-in. Thanks again

Thanks, this works for me
