[RESOLVED IN 7.1.1] Video AI 7.1.0 Error during Preview and Export in trial mode

Hi,

since i updated to v.7.1 it’s impossible to render any video on my machine.
Soon after i start the preview, i get an undefined Error and a mention to check the logs.

My Machine is a M1 Pro.
Before the update everything was working perfectly.

To gather logs, please open Video AI and select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.

I am getting the same issue, no matter what adjustment I enable, it fails on preview and export. It plays back fine with no adjustments enabled

I have tried uninstalling, deleting plist files, restarting mac, and reinstalling. No luck.

I have also tried all the different parallel process options in settings from 1-4, all give same error.

This is a known issue. Trial mode will not work in 7.1.0. Our team is aware of this and working to resolve it. For now, trial in 7.0.2.

Not sure which Application you’re asking about because, you’re posted under a Topaz Video AI category but, your profile says you only own Topaz Gigapixel AI

Please can you clarify this and be a little more specific about the issue you’re having

Hey thee, thanks for the reply.
Yes I’m a gigapixel user and just downloaded the trial version for the video AI, which is not rendering/exporting anything, I am receiving an error message every single time I try to export a video, no matter what are the parameters.
I understand that I should receive a render with a watermark applied, and that’s ok, but I just wanted to check the results before investing 300 usd on a app, but right now not even this I can do it.

Here are a few things that might help the export issue

System Requirements:
The app needs at least 6GB of dedicated VRAM. If you’re running on integrated graphics or below spec, it may fail to export

Here’s a link to check if your Computer meets System Requirements

AI Model Selection:
Selecting certain enhancement models like Iris or Chronos during trial might cause export errors

Graphics Driver Issue:
Are your GPU Drivers up to date and if your GPU has enough VRAM, other apps running in the background can eat into it.

Try closing everything else before launching Topaz Video AI

Try switching the AI Processor found within the Preferences Menu to CPU only just to test if the error persists.

Try exporting with Default Settings and no enhancements to see if it works at all.

There is a current bug that is affecting trial versions of the latest release 7.1.

The current recommendation is to roll back to version 7.0.2 and use that while the team works on patching the issue.

Nothing works. Constant error anytime I try to preview or look at something using the trial.

TVAI produces error on all models with 7.1.0 version after model is loaded.
6.0.0 works perfectly → update → nothing works.
Tested on two machines with fully different hardware specs.

Log file seems to indicate some let a hard-coded “josh” username slip into your codebase
“OpenCV(4.8.1) Error: Assertion failed (!_src.empty()) in cv::cvtColor, file C:\Users\josh.conan2\p\b\opencaaf3307c39a84\b\src\modules\imgproc\src\color.cpp, line 182”

I’m not Josh and have never had such a user on my machine.
