[RESOLVED by running the installer with antivirus and firewall off] - Photo AI missing models

I was instaling an update, but the installer crashed before loading the models.
What do I do?

Please send me your system profile information so I can get a better understanding as to how to troubleshoot the problem you are having.

You can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below.

Please be sure to send me a note here to let me know you sent something.

Here is another screen shot of my computer info.

Basically the same as the previous one.

Please don’t ask me to use dropbox again. My answer will not change.

System report attached.

Mac Pro.spx (7.73 MB)

Same issue—Installer is NONREPSONSIVE trying to load models

I don’t know if this will solve the problem for everyone, but it worked for me.

I turned off all my other devices including the television.

I turned off every application that was running.

Turned off Virus Protection and VPN.

And it took a while, but it finally worked.

Good luck. No guarantees.

Let me know if it works for you.

Sometimes your system network settings might be blocking the application ability to download all the required files for installation.

Please disable antivirus, firewall, VPN, or proxy that may be on your computer. These are known to block the installer from downloading the model files.

I did what you suggested above. It didn’t work.

Everytime I open this program, have to download models which is time consuming and irritating. Am reverting to Photo AI until this is resolved.

Hi.

This is happening because, the connection was interrupted during the Download and Installation process here’s some information from Topaz Support that may help resolve this issue

Generally, if you encounter this situation, your connection is being blocked from our server. This may be due to cache, cookies, VPN, proxy, firewall, anti-virus software, cloud settings, or Windows Defender / Windows Defender SmartScreen.

Turning off whatever security feature is blocking our server should allow you to proceed. If you’re unaware of any blocker you’re using, here are some basic fixes. Please try all the options, and let us know if one works for you.

WindowsMac

  1. Clear cache and cookies.
  2. Try a different browser: Chrome, Safari, and Firefox are three that work best. Use one of these for your default browser.
  3. Check for blockers. Temporarily disable any VPN, firewall, proxy, or antivirus software and try again. If it works, add our sites and apps to safe lists.
  4. Try another device. Use a different computer, tablet, or phone on the same network to see if it’s device-specific.
  5. Disable browser extensions. Turn off any privacy or security extensions and retry.
  6. Adjust browser security settings. Make sure cookies, pop-ups, and redirects are enabled. In Chrome: go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Third-Party Cookies and enable Allow third-party cookies.

Hope this helps

Many thanks

Best regards

I’ve been using Topaz Photo for a few days now. The download was lengthy and downloaded something like 147 or so files. Each time I go to process an image it says “Downloading Models” which goes fairly slowly. It’s doing it every time, even if I process an image multiple times, it still first stops for downloading models. Is this a bug? If not, is there a way to download all models in one fell swoop?

Hi.

This is happening because, your connection was interrupted during the Download and Installation process here’s a link and some information from Topaz to help guide to over come this issue.

Hope this helps
