Please write here if you experience bad results with the Remove Object tool in Photo AI. We are currently working on improving it and it will help us to see what the bad results are so we can train the AI models better.
Add a screenshot showing the before and after screen in Photo AI.
System requirements
Due to the resource-intensive nature of this feature, it is currently not supported on Macs with AMD GPUs. It also does not work on MacOS 12 (Monterey) and below.
Thanks for sending in those screenshots, and I understand this is not an ideal edit to receive for this image. It also appears that you are experiencing a crash while using Photo AI. I want to get some more information to help troubleshoot the problem you are having.
Could you send us your computerâs full system profile?
Also if you can, please try to recreate this crash in Topaz Photo AI, then go to Help > Open Log Folder, please send me all of the files within that folder. You should be able to attach them directly as a response to this thread.
If you would prefer you can securely submit your files(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Make sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.
Thanks for sharing that information. Iâve included these examples with an ongoing development ticket our Support Team has opened with the developers.
I will be sure to contact you on this thread once we have more information regarding this issue.
Tried âremoveâ on a photo of my wife. When I took the photo a little boy ran into the scene. Just for fun I have used âremoveâ on this one with astonishing results. The little boy did not disappear but was replaced with another boy. I tried the same again with the result that instead of removing the boy a different boy came into the photo.
Hi. This is happening because youâre not completely covering the boy I mean every aspect of the boy and your mask is the shape of a small person and thatâs why Photo AI is replacing the boy with another one.
To resolve this paint completely over the boy and trying not to make your mask the shape of a human then apply Remove again
It seems weird yes but, if you zoom into the image with the Mask youâll find that they havenât completely covered the whole body there is still parts of the boyâs clothing showing outside of the Mask.
The Remove Tool analyses the image as well as the shape of the Mask and recognises those parts missed by the Mask are indeed clothing and the Mask is the shape of a small person
Therefore, going by the information the Remove Tool has itâs taking those small parts of the clothing as well the Mask shape into consideration and thinks the user wants to replace one small person with another.
This isnât isolated to just Topaz AI products this behaviour is true with all AI related software for instance the Adobe suite of products.
The thing is, the user thinks they have covered the whole object with a Mask then click Apply and it doesnât work because, the whole process happens so fast the user naturally think itâs the software at fault when in reality itâs the user who hasnât Masked the object completely in the first place
The result that would have liked to see, knowing that it was probably not possible, was to remove the Toyota from this image, and get a full view of the Jeep behind it.
I figured Iâd probably get some very bizarre attempt on the part of Photo AI to guess at what the rest of the Jeep looked like.
Instead, Photo AI replaced the Toyota with its own idea of a fictitious different car.
That was from running Photo AI on the entire, much larger picture.
Running it on just this cropped-out portion of the picture, again trying to remove the Toyota, it replaced the Toyota with yet another different fictitious car.
