Topaz Photo AI [v2.2.1] on [Windows]

This has been reported quite a few times now, so you’re not the only one.
One time it was said to maybe be tied to specific NVidia GPUs…
Which GPU do you have?

Oh, and of course attach logs to your post so that those at Topaz maybe can find a pattern as to when this occurs.

I’m using Nvidia gpu but not seeing this issue.

Is this a Raw image?

I don’t use Topaz on RAW images.

Someone else is using an AMD gpu is getting this. Apparently this happens if you use the Autopilot settings in PAI, if you change the sharpening, the black stripe, may disappear.

I don’t use the AutoPilot settings, which may explain, why I’m not getting this issue.

that is a JPG file.
my PC build from

MB: ASUSROG Crosshair VIII Hero
GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 White OC Edition 24GB GDDR6X
PRO: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core Processor

Have you tried changing the Sharpening setting slightly, see if that gets rid of the black marks.

See here: Topaz adding weird unexplainable artifacts and here: Black Stripe

I’ve also seen this on ‘Radeon’ graphics cards with AMD computers. I don’t have NVidia as mentioned above. But only on very specific images.

“have you tried…” This seems like not the point. As this seems like a Hand to the face … Huh? error and as is now widely reported bug. I pointed out in my thread, that of course I can turn off ‘Sharpening’ and do it myself with another app. Ok, maybe the AI is cool and all with it’s ‘Subject’ sharpening… but not that cool. At least not yet. The real treat at this point with Topaz as we all know is ‘Denoise AI’ and the ‘Face Detection’ software.

I suspect this bug will be fixed promptly… as this is getting out of hand. How many people are reporting the problem.

Topaz should be fixing this as soon as possible, this has been happening for about 2 weeks now.

But if people need to edit their images now, then altering the sharpening may fix it, until Topaz fix the problem.

AutoPilot does not work for me.

I have also had this issue. I found reducing the sharpening slightly seemed to remove it.
