Intel Arc A770 GPU not being utilized even when selected as the AI Processor

Still same.

Confirmed - still not working! Failed fairly quickly, too.

@Version001 Can you both confirm that you are on the latest Beta driver and not a released driver?

i using 4335 (latest beta driver currently)

Thank you! I just shared this info and we may need some additional testing from our users. Would you be interested?

of course I’m interested. I’m using version 3.2.5 even though you haven’t released it for download;

So I’m a real beta tester :metal:

Thank you
Could you please test with Video AI 3.1.5 to confirm it’s a conflict with the new openvino version?

I don’t have crashes with this version but I think it’s because my cpu is used for processing instead my gpu (arc a770).

i get 0.6 fps (720p, not upscaling, just enhancement, proteus)

Can you double-check the preferences and see if you have the ARC GPU selected in the older build? Older builds will run slower than v3.2.4 just as an FYI

Yes, my arc gpu is selected in the preferences. Also I know old versions will slower than latest version but you know, 0.6 fps with just 720p enhancement not normal for arc a770…

Not optimistic:

DRIVER VERSION: 31.0.101.4335 BETA

KNOWN ISSUES:

IntelĀ® Arcā„¢ Graphics Products:

• Topaz Video AI* may experience errors when using some models for video enhancement.

Still very broken.
Tested it on the 1st when you posted. Driver version 4335 and VIA 3.2.3 still crashes as it always did, except this time I even managed to get a BSoD when trying to export with ProRes.

Updating VIA right now since there was another minor update. If the behavior changes I’ll either update this comment or post another one, but I fully expect the situation to be exactly the same.

@kevin.purdy @Version001 Thank you all for the update, can you share your logs?

Here’s the test running Intel beta 4335 and VEAI v3.2.4. Crashes after a few minutes with ā€œunknown errorā€. I’ll leave it installed for a few days, if you want to me to try things out - after that, restore backup with v4125 and v3.1.8 - at least that works for 1 process without crashing.

Dang! The logs are blank, can you try again? Make sure that logging is enabled

Here ya go. This one took longer to crash, but still did.

Sorry these are late - these are from when I did it on 5/3.

Hi

If you are experiencing issues with your Intel Arc A770 GPU not being utilized even when selected as the AI processor, there could be several possible reasons for this. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check driver installation: Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your Intel Arc A770 GPU. Visit the Intel website and download the latest drivers specific to your GPU model. Outdated or incompatible drivers can prevent the GPU from functioning properly.

Verify GPU compatibility: Confirm that your Intel Arc A770 GPU is compatible with the software or application you are using. Some applications may have specific requirements or limitations when it comes to utilizing GPUs for AI processing. Check the software documentation or contact the application developer for more information.

Application settings: Double-check the settings within the application you are using to ensure that it is configured to use the Intel Arc A770 GPU as the designated AI processor. Look for options related to GPU acceleration or AI processing and ensure the correct GPU is selected.

Power management settings: Check your computer’s power management settings to ensure that they are not set to limit the GPU’s performance. In some cases, power-saving settings can throttle the GPU’s usage to conserve energy. Adjust the power settings to a performance-oriented mode or disable any power-saving features that may affect the GPU.

Hardware conflicts: Verify that there are no hardware conflicts with other components in your system. Ensure that the GPU is properly seated in the PCIe slot, and there are no loose connections or conflicts with other devices. You may also try reseating the GPU or testing it in a different PCIe slot if available.

Monitor GPU usage: Utilize monitoring tools such as GPU-Z or Task Manager to check the GPU usage while running the AI application. This will help you determine if the ARC GPU is being utilized or if the issue lies elsewhere. If the GPU usage remains low even when the AI application is active, there may be an issue with the application or its compatibility with the GPU.
