I have a Canon R5 Mark II and I’m saving my files in CRAW format (.CR3 extension)
When I open the files in the latest version of PhotoAI, the colours are wrong and seemingly the outline of the image is also incorrect
Steps to reproduce issue:
take pictures on Canon R5 Mark II
open in PhotoAI
colours are wrong - there is a pinkish tone to the entire image
FWIW, the same problem occurs if I open the image directly in SharpenAI
The problem does not occur if I open the file in Photoshop and then open PhotoAI from the filter menu.
I can send sample files if that’ll help.
I’ve tried it with multiple files on the new body and all seem to be similarly affected.
First off, congratulations on getting the latest Canon R5 Mark II, it seems like a wonderful camera and would be a delight to shoot with
We currently use LibRaw’s open-source software to handle raw files within Topaz Photo AI, and unfortunately, LibRAW does not yet support this camera. As soon as they update their list, the following Photo AI release will support the added camera models.
In the meantime, the workaround is to convert your file to DNG:
If you have Lightroom Classic, you can import your RAW files to Lightroom Classic, please make sure you select “Copy as DNG”, then Use the RAW plugin of Photo AI accessed through File > Plug-in Extras > Process with Topaz Photo AI.
You can also use another program of your choice. I would recommend checking out the following: Adobe DNG Converter.
Our development team is looking into the possibility of fast-tracking its support to see if we can support it before LibRAW updates its list.
We will be sure to follow up on this thread once it’s fully compatible.
TPAI is not supporting the RAW-Files from the new Canon EOS R5 Mark II.
The colors are displayed completely incorrectly and an error message is displayed when saving and the process is aborted.
Regardless of whether TPAI is called as stand-alone or via LRC plugin.
For example, if I select image 2 in TPAI and then go back to image 1, the preview for image 1 is also displayed. (Error also exists with EOS R5 MARK I images).
If I start TPAI as stand-alone and open several images, then all preview images are displayed directly!
It will not process C-raw images from the new R5-2. The image haze a purple haze when brought up for processing. And DNG is not produced.
Steps to reproduce issue:
Would you mind sending in some more information to get a better understanding of the problem you are having with this particular type of image? Please send the following information:
The original image file.
The processed image.
A screenshot or description of the settings panel so I can see what adjustments were turned on.
You can securely submit your image(s) to my Dropbox using the link below.
Are you able to send some of these files to my Dropbox above? I’d like to share these errors with the developers and team to see if we are able to help troubleshoot this problem.
I’m having the same issue on Windows PC. Raw file has purple haze and gives error when trying to save to PNG. I was able to successfully edit the JPG file version of the same photo out of the R5 Mark ii.
Just discovered that Microsoft Photos is having the same issue when viewing the new raw file from Canon R5 Mark ii. Photo displays correctly for about a second then changes when file is fully loaded.
I am having the exact same issue with the new Canon R5 MK2. John Musgrave watermk@iinet.net.au
Jpegs are OK but craw files will not process through Topaz.
John - thanks for the prompt response. My typical processing routine is to open the CRAW file in Photoshop and then call your tools via the Filter menu (and this works) so I’m ok for now.
Full disclosure, I’m still using your legacy Denoise & Sharpen apps because I think I get better results from them. However, that said, I did some side-by-sides with 3.2.0 and I was pretty impressed… I might (finally) have to start using PhotoAI
FastRawViewer is product of LibRaw LLC, who make the LibRaw library used by Topaz for RAW support. So maybe Canon R5 mk2 support isn’t far away, but the LibRaw library itself doesn’t get updated very often.
