Weird Artefacts at pixel level using photo AI

There are weird pixel distortions that are appearing that are not in the original before using Photo Ai.

Granted this is appearing in scans made on an Epson scanner from 4x5 negatives. However as mentioned they are not present in the original. These are the settings that are being applied to the files:

Sharpening: model: Strong strength: 80
Remove Noise: strength 25, debtor 100, recover 42

you can see coloured pixel zigzag effect

Please send me the original image and I can try to reproduce this.

I believe this is due to a pattern in the original film or the scanner that is causing an issue with the AI model for Remove Noise.

You can securely submit your image(s) to my Dropbox using the link below. Please be sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something.

I have sent a cropped version to your dropbox

I have included a crop of the original file as it is large, but the effect is present. Originally a 4x5 neg scanned using an epson v700 perfection scanner. The tif file is layered with the top layer being the output from topaz Photo Ai with the following settings applied. It is reproducible as I have tried various settings with this effect present. Note the original non-cropped file is 17664x22320px.

Be aware from my testing, this effect is being produced by the sharpening AI not the remove noise, and the Denoising is actually helping to remove most of the effect that is in greater quantities without denoising on

Remove noise
Normal 25
Minor blur 40
Recover 40

Sharpen
Strong
Strength 80

Mike
