That is a very good question, Iām assuming there is a bug in 2.4 causing this to happen. Are you using the same models directory for 2.4 and 2.6 or you donāt even have 2.6 installed.
Is there a reason why u havenāt updated to 2.6?

Now Iām waiting 6,5h instead of 5,5h for one episode with Proteus v2, I find v3 to aggressive with ādetailsā.
And 3090 is still jumping around 40-60% of GPU loadā¦ (using GPU-Z)

App Nap is disabled by the app so it should be able to process videos in the background.
Just processed an entire video with the screen locked and another with the app in the background its slower to process but works.
Can I get VEAI logs from you for the overnight app not processing situation if the screen is locked.
Join the VEAI beta, we have very low Mac users there.
The performance improvements for Artemis, proteus and Dione are very slight and depend on the machine. If you have a fast GPU slower CPU you will see improvements, if you have a slower GPU faster CPU then it might be slower. Mac should see no difference.
Set the VRAM to max. What model are you using?
Contact the support, they should be able to upgrade you to 2.6

Hi there, I am exactly in the same missing CLI boat. My workflow contains various clips. It is manageable only when using CLI scripts. I can get the scripts going and do some productive work. Using the GUI with thousands of āclick-wait-click-waitā per day is a deal breaker. One of the reasons CLI was dropped was constant complaints from some. That is strange, as I have run thousands of CLI commands (maybe hundreds in one day) and I have never (ever) encountered a glitch (a crash, wrong model, etc.). For me, CLI was 100% solid. Of course, like all of us, Iād like to continue with VEAI, try new models. But I cannot get past 2.3.0 if there is no CLI. So, yes, Suraj or anyone else, if you can post (or email) some directions on what and how to edit json files to make 2.3.0 CLI work with new models (and what new models would work with 2.3.0 under CLI), it will be great. If CLI will still be working with the new models, I suppose the json file can be edited to include the CLI tag name for the edited model? Thanks.

Thanks for point out the nice issue. Iām surprised to see the app side has no priority set at all and is treat by apple as GUI app, QoS class is most likely set to user interactive. This explains both the slow performance in the background and possibly not working when the screen is locked or display is off.

The logs show that frame processing time suddenly goes from 330ms to more than 2000ms.

Does changing the app nice value using renice improve the background performance?
To renice on Mac for anyone reading the thread:
sudo renice -19 [AppProcessID]
you can get the process id from the activity monitor

In already tried and it does not seem to correct the issue
Will try again and check the processing times in the log.
Checked the logs after setting the NICE value to -20 (which you must do after the encoding has started - it gets reset to +19 at each new file)
Absolutely the same as with NICE value at +19: ca. 320ms before screen lock and more than 2000ms after.
Chronos slo-mo 200% on 10-bit HLG footage is still producing banding for me. Artemis on the same footage is good.
Iām noticing some bugs:
Thereās still the bug where if you only upscale a section of a video after itās completed if you close it out and drop in a new video the beginning and end brackets will persist on the new timeline until you choose a different frame.
- Import a video
- Click the āClose Allā button and then confirm
- Import the same video a second time
- Itās now stuck on the first frame no matter where you click on the timeline and if you try previewing the program will softlock
Iām having my system crash after about a hour of running. Win10 Pro, 6700k & GTX 1080, running in a VM with Remote Desktop for access. Going to try rollback to the previous version to see if that fixes it.
Also noticed that things seem to be running 200-400ms slower per frame
Artemis medium quality - only upscaling 480p using 100% denoise deblock.
Hello, I updated my Video Enhancer AI to 2.6.0 it worked perfectly on 2.4.0 however now I canāt even open the program on 2.6.0. Like I open the program Iām able to click stuff then it closes itself. If I try to use an older version it the Model AI wonāt work so I canāt upscale anything. Can anyone help me fix this? My PC has the specs needed to run this program because I have been using this for a very long time now but ever since I updated it to 2.6.0 it just wonāt open. Please help >_<
About clean installā¦someone above mentioned that uninstalling the normal way leaves traces behind. So is there an uninstall tool to make sure all of itās gone OR do you have to do everything manually? My new version is working fineā¦Iām seeing no issues other than the fact that itās performing about the same as the older version. I donāt notice anything different in speed.
