Video AI does not produce audio on output

I’ve seen this posted at various times in the past, but have not seen a resolution.

Purchased, downloaded and installed 4.0.4 one day and started to convert some videos that day. Converted multiple videos that day and all produced a) audio during preview and b) proper audio on the output file.

Day-2 and subsequently I have never been able to produce audio during preview or output file. Even the videos I had no problems with on day-1 no longer have audio.

  1. Upgrading to 4.0.5 has not resolved the issue
  2. I have tried changing the Audio Mode from Copy to Convert and back again multiple times and still do not get audio output.
  3. I have tried various models, Stabilization, Enhancement, etc. and nothing has recovered audio to now.
  4. Reset all preferences to defaults - did not correct the issue

Help!

System : Mac Studio M2 Ultra, Sonoma 14.1.2

As no audio is produced during preview by design I very much doubt this.

And on conversion? No audio by design? I doubt that. And I find it hard to believe that it works one day and not the next.

He just made clear that one part of your statement just cannot be true - which leaves the other a bit in doubt…

Are you really sure that it was the exact same video that formerly worked and now doesn’t and this with the exact same App version?

What if you revert to an older version, does it work there (not that an update accidentally/ unnoticed slipped through killing support for some unusual audio codec)?

And last not least it would be good if you could provide a small part of your video here so we could test if this is a general issue or tied to your specific setup.

I get it, I was operating on memory. But the issue of no audio on output has continued for a couple of weeks, regardless of the parameters used in the application. I’ve been using the same set of videos used initially when it processed fine.

However I may have resolved the issue. Reinstalling the application did nothing, but going to the MAC OS level and clearing out the application’s Cache and “Application Support” directories (~user/Library/) seems to have done the trick. It was a last ditch effort to try ANYTHING.

Not sure why it occurred in the first place, but I’ll monitor to see if it happens again.

Glad to see the issue of no audio on output you have managed to resolve.
