@dakota.wixom Can we know what type of high-end cards are providing 1fps?
there is a comercial license but it costs money so Topaz don’t use it
It’s stated above in v7 released notes too.
I’ve been sitting here at 100% GPU utilization and “Initializing Preview” / Loading Model for nearly an hour; this is ludicrous. I read here that someone took 15 minutes for it to start, but I’m coming up on a solid HOUR, and still hasn’t started rendering my 10 second clip.
9950x3D, 4090, 96GB.
Where is the control to set the VRAM percentage?
I have read the whole post. Thanks for a truly useless and patronizing reply.
Were you suggesting something else?
This.
What the hell are you even referring to?
I haven’t had any errors at least so far with h265 or h264 exports
Is there is a comparison between Starlight vs Starlight Mini using the same footage to see which brings the best results, it’s hard to know what difference gains you get when you only showing Starlight Mini footage against it’s original.
Starlight Mini, RTX 4080 16GB, 64GB RAM. 27 minutes video, 720x576 progressive. The only available setting is the resolution, selected the minimal value, though I wanted 4x upscale.
Status: 26 days remaining. Speed: 0.0 FPS.
first time I tried I checked with GPU-Z software and something from Topaz Video AI took up all my free RAM so it came to a halt. Did I clean restart of windows and was ok since. I was loosing hopes when I installed the starlight mini the first time.
Did a restart an hour ago as well hoping for the same result as yours. It’s still just sitting there at 0.0, “loading model”, “Initializing Viewer”.
perhaps uninstalling topaz video AI, and manually deleting the diffusion starlight mini folder? I did that as well now I remember. Perhaps the folder didn’t get downloaded correctly. Sometimes few files are missing from python venv structure and it just sits there.
Hey buddy,
Lets try together solve this
When u launch topaz, manage to decrease the vram in preferences. If still slow to load (for me take at 3 to 5 minuts to load, still unpredictable) try to reset topaz app. Reinstall it to see how it will react (in my case it was a good start).
When u open again, look at the manager task and keep looking at the gpu load. The ram and processor is the same, the ram it take like 11gb, so just look at the vram
It will load all the memory, and then the gpu will oscilante between 100% and 0. If they are making this curve, they are actually processing the video. The starlight spend some time to render the first 2 seconds before show you the reamin time and show at least some preview, so be aware at that.
If anything dosent work, change the output to be png, so you can see if they are making something out of it
Thanks so much for an actual substantive reply. I’ll give your recommendations a try!
Hi I’m working on it to make sure higher end GPUs and VRAMs will be faster in a future version.
Was about to purchase upgrade, but glad I did the free trial first.
Same error as others ![]()
Error setting option preset to value p7.
Doesn’t really provide much to go about ![]()
