Upgraded to V2.3.0 - CPU core usage drop from 8 to 4

I have updated to v2.3.0 today and have been looking at the new upscaling options.
The laptop I typically use at home I must use the CPU to do the hardwork but I have spotted that this version is now using only 4 of 8 cores. That is completing NR, Upscale, Sharpening, or any combination.

Do you know why this may be the case? The impact is a sudden drop in performance.

I did notice this too, but did forget about it.

From my 16 cores it was only using 8 cores or 55% cpu usage.

With GP too.

Its a big impact. I often batch 100-1000 images at a time, so double the time is far from ideal. Sounds like some form of bug.

I have reverted back numerous versions as far as V2.0.0
The loading on the cores is different but still not well utilized. Windows Averages this as 55% across 8 cores.
An important detail is this is a different profile to V2.3.0

Can this be fixed please Topaz?

Thanks for reporting this I made a task for the developers to look into this. Looking at the change log I’m not sure where this decrease in performance came from.

It’s a 2xslower resonse.
This xeon will run 8 cores flat out for ever. This is the point of the bug report

At what point I don’t know either. I went back to 2…0.0. even that does load the cores the same.
Thanks for the reply. I will try topaz Denoise by itself later and also it’s fellow Apps. Will report back.
