Update to 6.2.2 can no longer get playable output file

[If you are posting a new bug, please include the following]

  1. When I process even a single file using the same source and preset I have used for years, I get an MP4 file of the proper size but it will not play in Photos nor PowerDVD, which I have always used. It plays about four seconds and stops. I have updated the NVIDIA drivers for my GeForce RTX3070. Updated Windows 10 and rebooted the system. The same problem has occurred in three trials.

  2. Your system profile
    SystemProfile.txt (2.4 MB)

logsForSupport.zip (9.4 MB)

  1. Any screenshots as necessary
Note in screenshot anomalous red circled end time

Can you share the original and the exported video files with us via the dropbox link below? This way we can run some tests and compare against the settings in the logs to see what is going on.

You can securely submit your file(s) to our Dropbox using the link below. Please be sure to send me a note to let me know you sent something and include the file name.

The input file is more than 1GB and the output file more than 2GB. Can the dropbox link handles that?

I’m not sure if this is the right thread, but we also saw that the encoding an MP4 did not finish. Starting with a .MOV. .MOV to .MOV works fine. Here is the log. Happy to upload any files if it helps. This failed on 6.22 and 7.0. We tried both.

you can upload just a segment by lossless cut on Keyframes for orig and exported one with Avidemux

I uploaded the files and sent you a message to that effect wth the names of the files.

I have the files and they are in the queue to try and see what I can work out.

The exports that I ran seem to be working in VLC, Windows Media Player, Photos and Windows Movie and TV player. However, I noticed after I ran the first export that I had it set to H265, second attempt is running now.

The H264 export that I ran and just tested with VLC, Windows Media, Photos and Movie and TV Player runs without issue and does not show the odd timecode issue you shared in your screenshot. Looking at the metadata of the files between your export and mine out of the app, the only difference I see is that yours has a more contained bit rate which results in a lower file size (2.7 GB to 6.67 GB on my end). Did you adjust that in the Codec Settings?

Here is that H264 export I got. Can you test and see if it works in your players?

Thanks for checking this out. Since the most recent upgrade after my posting, I am no longer having trouble. I use H246 for compatibility.
