As stated in the beta topic:
We will add support for an environment variable TVAI_TRIAL_ALLOWED set it to 0 and the FFmpeg process will stop instead of watermarking., TVAI 6 now has that.
That environment variable has been added, but setting it to 0 stops the processing no matter the login status.
Expected result is that it will only stop the processing if the user is not logged in.
Pinging the team about this to see what is going on.
This should be fixed. Wait for an alpha/beta or 6.0.1
Would Topaz care to share the exact circumstances which will result in TVAI (UI or CLI) becoming unauthenticated? Or is that a commercial secret? There is no mention in the EULA or anywhere else that I can find that stipulates that TVAI must be authenticated online before each use. You even have a pinned post “Offline Model Downloads” which strongly implies the software can be used offline at any time. So the way I see, it, it is Topaz that are breaking the terms of the EULA by deliberately preventing use of the software by someone who is licensed to use it. (The only mention in the EULA I can see is regarding the commercial license which says the software must be logged in at least once a year) It’s quite possible I’ve missed or misunderstood something. In which case, I’m sure there are others who would like this issue to be clarified by Topaz.
Thanks.
Andy
I’m not aware of any situations where a user should automatically get logged out except for on the day of license expiry. If the user is connected to the internet the app does check the license status every day, if the user is offline it is every month. The only time there might be an accidental logout is if there is a server or communication error.
If this happens a lot please send me the output logs after you set the environment variable TVAI_ALWAYS_LOG to 1. This will allow us to debug and solve the issue.
I’ll add that variable to the debugging of my script.
Any other undocumented variables we should know about?
This is indeed fixed in Beta 6.0.1.0.b. Working correctly now.
