Topaz Video AI Video AI 7.1.5 - Models Manager issues (never to be fixed)

Updated to the latest version, trying to download the models via model manager.

I can only get 479 of 603 models downloaded. The rest produces errors.

This is so frustrating, especially since it is a persisting problem. It never got fixed for many years. Offering the models per direct links or as a zip archive is refused by the developers, the model manager itself can’t find them.

There are hundreds of complaints in this forum of many other users with the same issue. The developers just don’t care.

Instead they advertise Topaz Studio now. After buying an only limited functional product (and despite paying for several updates this issue got never got fixed), I could never use the full functionality of this product.

The models not downloading via the model manager is still an issue that the devs are working on fixing. The models do still work when applied to a video in the preview and export processes.

If you are running into issues where that is not happening it will be helpful to get the logs from the app for their review into the situation. You can grab them and email them to the support team so we can pass them along. help@topazlabs.com

To gather logs, please select Help > Logging > Get Logs for Support and attach the zip file to your reply.

Never for me; it just says: “downloading models” and then hangs there forever without getting them.

I sent another mail to the support …

Was already reported several times; some download links/model file names has changed, but this was not corrected into the program. So just URLs are wrong and should be easy to fix @kyle.topazlabs

I also followed the other suggestion from the email to download each model separately. In a few cases this seemed to work, but in most cases not.

That has been shared with the team and passed along, I do not control or have the ability to change the code of the app. The devs are working on this issue and it has been raised many times in meetings and team calls about the levels of frustration among users and ourselves on the support staff.

I will pass along the information again though in our internal tracking system for bugs and issues.

Almost December and still no fix for this issue.
I had to remove the studio version (i bought the app version 1 year ago) so i wanted to install the app version which used to work ok before.
But impossible to download all the models via model manager, and also got this NanGo issue when downloading the starlight mini model.

So i paid for a software i can’t fully use anymore.
Please fix the legacy apps and don’t only focus on Studio versions please.

The support also doesn’t react anymore to mails. :roll_eyes:
