Have not used program in about 2 months. update it load some files. runs about 10 mins and then crashes the system and the computer restarts it self. lol
Guess i won’t be using this program for a while if this rando shit keeps happening. i won’t be renewing. Has this happen to anyone else?
this happened to my system as well. I could run prime95 torture tests and Furmark for days, but after just a few minutes running TVAI the system would freeze or restart. Apparently my system was overclocked just a little bit too far. After setting the CPU multiplier one notch back I haven’t had a single crash since and I’m using TVAI practically every day now.
Your system is likely to be unstable, whether it is overclocked or not. If it was TPAI, then almost every Windows/Intel system would be experiencing this. My system is not so different from yours. I have an Intel 13900K, nVidia RTX4090 and Win11. Also if older versions of TVAI run just fine on your system, that doesn’t mean much. TVAI is constantly being improved and older versions just might use your hardware less efficiently.
I’ve seen a few cases where a new build of TVAI caused crashes until the GPU drivers were reinstalled. And vice versa (new GPU or GPU drivers required a TVAI reinstall). Seems to happen mostly with nvidia 4090s.
Now that just isn’t correct.
Preview functionality during exports was officially there in 3.5.4 and suddenly missing in 4.0 allegedly due to problems with choppy preview especially on windows systems. And by that time we were told that this would be coming back.
This is the reason people used this “unsupported hack” in the first place. And now even this workaround is gone for not really well backuped reasons: insufficient disk space? In 2024 and with anApp that has as high hardware requirements as TVAI? Really?
SW development is a constant battle between features that often refuse to coexist. Sometimes, you just have to decide which of the two conflicting features are most important.
So you really think it’s that hard to simply play back a created temp file in the app?
Something that many freeware players flawlessly do…
P.S. we even temporarily had the choice in the prefs to set if such a temp file for preview was created or not. Reverting to this solution should please everyone:
those that have the disk space can use it and those without or that don’t need it turn it off.
If they can get it working properly I’m all for them bringing it back - but not in the state it was when they removed it. I recall non-stop complaints from the same people who are now complaining about it being removed
There are loads of things that freeware video processors can do that are not in TVAI. I’ve posted about some of them myself.
Just because a feature seems simple on its own doesn’t mean that implementing it won’t cause something else - often, something that doesn’t seem as if it should be related to that feature at all - to blow up.
Make sure you don’t shit with laughter
What are you proud of, my friend, that the developers have made the program unusable? I renewed my upgrade license for a year a month ago, but subsequent updates are no longer acceptable to me.
The program is already unusable, distorting everything it can. To do something at least a little normal, you need to try dozens of options. And now, this possibility has been removed altogether.
A month ago, I paid for an upgrade license for another year. Nothing was said in the roadmap for this period that you would distort the program and exclude the most important feature of your program. You don’t have the legal right to do that!
I urge all users to express their opinions more actively on this forum. Because some people want to burst laughing at us. What are we going to do without it!?
