Hi, I have a question. Does v4 support HDR10? And can we finally export in HDR10? Because I know that in v3 (the version I’m using at the moment) it doesn’t support it.
Can you create a manual back up before you update each time?
Shortcuts can be created. The issue is having an app remove all of them when there is no need to unless you’re uninstalling.
Actually thats not the issue. Thats’s just a fact and one that if you’ve properly notified Topaz about is on their radar. Of course there is always the chance that it’s a workflow issue but I haven’t tested to recreate the issue. But at the moment the issue is whether or not you want a quicker workaround than recreating the shortcuts every time there’s an update, until the issue is fixed. If you don’t and if there isn’t then the point is moot and you’ll just have to wait until they fix it.
Indeed I completely agree, the basics like more focus on speed and the SOC’s would be a nice priority.
Talking about speed, version after version the conversion speed is dramatically going down…even on my latest PC with latest model cpu and 4090 RTX card is even see videos ( duration 5mins) upscale to HD (not 4K) takes more than 1 hour to upscale!
WHY Topaz is it SO difficult to focus on the latest technology? Even my Mac Ultra speed is slowing down on upscaling old videos with these latest versions….
What’s going on or better…your projection on getting things done on the basic level?

It could add an option to measure the quality of the input videos (VMAF, PSNR, PSNR-HVS, PSNR-HVS-M, VIF, SSIM or MS-SSIM).

I was not aware that my super incredible fiancée was noticing that I was interested in TVAi (how do they do that).
But on Christmas’s Eve, she presented to me one of her gifts and guess what it was, folks?!?!
Nope… not just TVAi’s enhancer but the whole Topaz Lab’s bundle!!

She purchased the bundle ~Black Friday. I quickly tested my extreme concerns. From user’s feedback, and my own conclusion at that time is TOTALLY confirmed now.
Again… in my opinion, TVAi IS NOT ready for anything serious and TVAi is definitely not ready for anything commercial!
This is one time that I was really hoping to be wrong about but it is what it is, folks.
Extremely poor hardware-acceleration (clean W11-23/i9-14000K-64GB-Dual-m/4090FE/1200w PSU (handles frequent transient spikes easily, especially needed for unoptimized crappy software, ect.)
She’s still within the 30-day return policy (phew), I’m just sad, and irritated, that it turned into this, though.

In another vain, if a user had purchased TVAi on 25/12/22 and if they did not renew their one year of free updates on/by 25/12/23, on the 26th, because of the “holiday season” will Topaz ignore that your free update has expired and issue that user an extension until that holiday season has passed?!
No is the answer. It’s just business as usual, right?!
Think about that.
IMO, Topaz’s staff should’ve announced an out-/in-office PA to its users’ base or published their usual updates earlier before the holiday… officially… rather than letting a volunteer’s mod (aka user) be their mouth-piece.
I don’t speak on behalf of Topaz. Topaz is a US based company therefore nobody should be surprised that they took a week off for Christmas, like most of western civilization did.

As a mere owner and user, some of us would be rather pleased if Topaz would NOT keep on rushing out weekly updates, before fixing bugs and basics. And if they (or anyone) do usually push out weekly enhancements and updates, they are unlikely EVER to be able to do that. As for Christmas, most western companies run on reduced or skeleton staffing so a 2 week pause is entirely normal and expected.

Topaz is golden! You have to ab-test a lot and can not just pick a model. It is 220% faster than the best free Ai also.

This is not up for debate because, like it or not, this strategy IS Topaz’s today’s business model.

I use both often simultanuously old vhs 1995 i use protheus 4 hence alpha for the good stuff I use the production ready version artemis HQ and SD dione clearing for good 2008 2009 recordings
