Just noticed that in this version if an item is in the queue to be processed and you change it to “High Priority” it doesn’t take.
Don’t know when the last version that let you change the priority of items in the queue that have yet to be processed was, but had a lot of items and wanted to use this to reset to high priority.
The new preview workflow is really unintuitive. All I want to see is the source versus upscaled side-by-side as the process is running. How do I get that functionality back?
And one thing better would be a pre-render of the very first frame so you don’t even have to hit the Preview button to get a glimpse of what it will look like.
Thanks for responding. That doesn’t do what I am looking for, unfortunately. I want to be able to do is what the software has being doing for a long while previously, have my original/source on the left, the export in progress on the right or a wipe so I can not only see the progress it has made but be able to compare the before and after of what it already processed.
Here I have just been checked no double images.
The data comes from Mediainfo and no Dupe Image.

Actually Topaz always generated heavy artifacts unless one had literally ideal footage… I am very thrilled for Adobe’s project. All I want is natural results, good denoising, good sharpening, no matter the condition of my source! Of course the software can only go so far trying to upscale an under-ideal-condition footage, but for me the program should have some algorithm that identifies what can be done for the footage before the point it gets unnatural or gets artifacts.
Well what we saw in this presentation (as far as you actually can judge from a YouTube video) the results of that Adobe solution do look extremely similar to Proteus with all its advantages but also misbehavings.
The „comic look“ I could also see to some extend in the Adobe presentation…
Late to the party, Adobe lol. Cherry picked short clips fully under their own control and taking up less than a quarter screen of a 1080p youtube video doesn’t say anything to me other than ‘working on it’. Just like every other video editing company in the world will be. Let’s see it all at full screen, full resolution, full length and on some real-world ‘difficult’ material.
If Topaz maintain their ‘everything on your own computer’ approach, there will always be a market for them in times when most companies make you use the cloud, charge you for it, and charge you again and again. Every month. That’s one of the best bits of Topaz’s approach to me, in spite of the bugs and other problems.
I opened my encoded videos into virtualdub, and went, frame-by-frame, and found duplicates… I did, however, do extensive tests with 4.0.2 GR and already submitted them, so the issue will be looked at, but I’ll definitely do some tests to make sure, and I’ll get back to you, watch this post.
In the meantime, here’s to being proven wrong! As That way, we all win!
EDIT: I’m noticing an increase to 25 fps from 16, that’s within the threshold of avoiding dupe’d frames… I’ll interpolate a 25fps video up to 90 fps, that’s when you get dupe’d frames.
EDIT 2: Well, hot damn, it may have been a fluke, on my part or a bad source video that I may have accidentally used, but I was proven wrong, as it looks good, I just got done encoding a 30fps video to 240 WITH DeBlur enabled, and it looks good!
Merci de me l’avoir fait savoir! ⇐ (Translated using online translator) I’m ecstatic to be wrong about this, as that means I can use the General Release unfettered by the dupe bug!
I wish they would have communicated that they fixed the bug at the beginning of this thread, as we could have skipped this entire conversation!
No matter if it stand on Loop or Looping it plays always from the beginnng of the loop and at the end it didn´t stop just playing the not previewed section…no looped playing
I have to doubleclick the choosen preview in order to go to the beginning of the loop and hit play to have a manual looping.
Edit:
When i am doing a 10sec Preview it´s looping…again choosing the other 5sec Preview it doesn´t loop.
On both Previews there´s the “Looping” sign…
On the full screen preview the 10sec Preview is just looping once and after that it plays beyond the end.
Another Video Preview 10 Seconds…looping is on but it doesn´t loop.
What happened to Live Preview? It used to work very well until this year, when it started to stall part way through processing a video. Adding “Live Preview” as an option (whenever that was) didn’t improve it at all for me, and now it’s gone. Doing short previews in advance is OK, but real-time live preview was better for me; at very least it was a great time-waster when I didn’t feel like working.
The latest version appears to be giving me some sort of option to view short previews during processing, but all I see on View 2 is a greyed-out copy of the input video with “Not Processed”. Perhaps I’m doing something wrong (it wouldn’t be the first time).
Eventhough Topaz software updates are failing this board has increased in fun joy and wisdom hence the upgrade for me has still value what does not work anymore, what does not work, will never work and what might work in a future version.
