Not me, it’s much faster.
Tried Apollo because of all the reports of it not working.
1080p source. Slomo at 2.5X, replace duplicate frames off. PNG output. Worked perfectly. For the first time ever, the preview played at ~60fps instead of around 23.
I doubt a laptop can do well. Can you post your benchmark result on the 1920x1090 and 4k input resolution? You can do benchmark from the “Process → benchmark” menu.
If now Iris-v1 officially become Iris-LQ, then is there any plan of adding TensorRT model for Iris-v1. ![]()
At the moment, Iris-LQ (v1) is much slower than Iris-MQ (v2) on Nvidia GPU.
NGL, it’s weird to see them promoting V4, when there are SO MANY ISSUES with this release and the models in general.
I updated from v 3.5.0 to 3.5.2.
Tried testing a couple of short vids, but previews and exporting was not working.
Uninstalled 3.5.2 and reinstalled 3.5.0 and previews and exporting works again.
Something’s quite broken for me with that 3.5.2 update.
I’ve got trouble, again with using stabilizing model along with V8 Apollo, so I’m uploading the logs and the little 2s video, that causes trouble, all in one ZIP file. ![]()
That said, this error wall is weird - how would these TIFF files not be there, if I’m creating a preview?

…and the next attempt do to exactly the same preview (with Apollo v8 as frame interpolator, stabilize, all while upscaling with Iris v1) worked. ![]()
I can but support themselves have confirmed that my laptop adheres to the specificatons they would like
In addition there is a limit in the software itself what it can grasp so it will never use all videoram.
So more is not always liniair with your specs
As my friend suggested on the Polish film forum, I first turned off the integrated Intel graphics from the Device Manager in Windows 11, so Topaz processed using the NVIDIA 4060 graphics. Then the other way around, i.e. I turned off the 4060 graphics and Topaz processed using the integrated Intel graphics. In both cases, the process was terminated with an error. I sent the logs to technical support.
I think this is important information. So far, I have performed tests on 720x576i material (different files), processed to twice the resolution, and denoised using the Iris model. A few minutes ago, in version 3.5.2, I started processing another input material, i.e. Full HD to 4K. Well, it turns out that Topaz is processing this video, so far it has not interrupted with an error. I will let you know when the program finishes processing.
MSI Katana model (GF) is actually more focus on lighter and cheaper, so the power of it’s GPU or CPU are limited. Like the 4060 on this machine can only reach 105W instead of 140W (under furmark), in your daily use like game or other applications, most of machines cannot reach this limited power. (we don’t talk about Alienware, it’s power control is insane)
This is not video editing ![]()
This is running heavy loads of calculation on a machine that is not built for such a thing…
With 3.5.2 it´s needed to do this to get it to work:
After all that it´s working like 3.5.0
The input video condition must be set to Medium Quality (Iris V2) for video input 480p and better…below that use LowQuality(Iris V1)
This was also the first time for me that updating throughout the app leads to errors.
On 3.5.2 is still al lot to do until it can be renamed to V4
Guys, keep it English so that other people on this forum can make use of your input if needed ![]()
Seems like 3.5.2 is also broken.
I’ll stick with 3.5.0
Topaz 3.5.2 has just successfully finished processing the FHD file to 4K along with denoising using the Iris LQ model. GPU utilization was at 95-100% all the time. This is some progress in these considerations and in searching for the cause.
The same for me. I’ve abandoned using previews at all, it’s unusable.
Sometimes TVAI throws an error when I try to move slider, I suppose it’s because of my 4GB VRAM limiting any other activity.
For example if I convert 720x576 to 1920x1080 using IRIS TVAI utilizes up to 3.8 GB VRAM and watching Youtube causes TVAI to stop and throw an error.
3.5.2 is working for me but I had to uninstall the previous version and install it again, the normal update in place process did not work.
I processed the FHD MPEG2 file to 4K once again, only this time using the better Iris MQ model, and version 3.5.2 did the job properly.
As you can see, the problem for version 3.5.2 is the processing of 576i files. And for such purposes I bought a new computer and the Topaz Video AI program.
You know… WORST part of previews are for me? I do not need it to do playback, just a still image so I can verify quality and am not looking at a blank screen while exporting. It’s not like I got the play button on.
