It’s not a question of Settings or the amount of time to generate a Preview – Preview always fails immediately with the Error message to collect logs and send.
Only in one specific version or since when exactly?
There is a long standing issue that can easily be fixed in the GUI:
For the stabilization progress bar, someone’s code used a zero-based counter but the GUI uses a one-based counter, which results in stabilization passes showing “0/2” and “1/2”, when most people would expect “1/2” and “2/2”. I would also suggest adding the text “Stabilization pass 1/2” so it provides some context to users.
Thanks!
[SOLVED} Since I go the M2 Ultra weeks ago, Preview has never worked on any video source with any confoguration.
It works on Windows now and indeed on mac the issue still the same. But now on Windows the previews take waaaay longer to encode (ProRes) they’re stuck at 100% for about 30seconds and then the green check mark appears.
Now encoding a 35min video is taking twice as long… its showed ETA 3h. Its been stuck at 100% for another 3…
It sounds like the temporary directly may be at fault here. Can you please try a clean install?
Can you open a support ticket? I can help you with this.
@martinsawicki Does this happen with all filters etc or are you both noticing this with the same filter? It sounds like the preview is frozen at 100%, is that correct?
How long is it staying at 100%?
Well… with all the previews that I’ve done since 3.3.8 its stuck at 100% for about 30s (preview of 120 frames) I only use Iris
But an export has been stuck on 100% for about 3 hours, but the preview progress bar is behind. Also the live preview isn’t working normally. It plays 1-2 seconds, stops then after 10s plays 1-2s again… I can skip through the frames but very slow…
Well… I think it has to do with the deinterlacing model. Cus I opened another video with normal Iris and that preview plays while exporting.
I’ll do a full uninstall and reinstall to check if that solves anything…
That is true, that is quite confusing!
Ah, you can ignore my comment on the other thread in that case Can you share your logs?
As shown in the screen recordings above I cannot reproduce the preview issues.
But 3.3.8 is still MUCH slower on Apple silicon when RAM is set to 100% for SD upscales than with RAM set to minimum / 10%:
This is the exact same job with 100%:
And then with 10%:
Mac Studio M2 Ultra here.
For feedback : Indeed same issue on my MAC’s here : with less RAM in prefs the preview goes a lot faster. I never changed this until I saw the feedback here on the forum. I always set this to 100% memory but yes…with less % Ram in prefs the preview is faster.
Tested on Mac mini 16GB M1 and MacBook Pro M1 32 GB Ram.
I appreciate the developers’ effort to make a better software, but to be honest, there are too many updates for minor issues. There are some simple workarounds for these. I am much more interested on the models development than anything else. I think they should rather be training the models with more images and trying to eliminate artifacts in the results, than releasing like 2 updates per week.
Awesome , that’s my goal with all my kiss videos.
3.3.8 - Exporting to MP4, 4k resolution 60fps - Video is created, but fails to play correctly, stopping after a second. Youtube refuses to take the video. Occurred 2x over in Theia and Iris at different bitrates. source video is an uncompressed quicktime mov. Please review.
That is VEAI v3.3.8, somehow, filename tooltip decided not to go away, when I was using the program.
Ha ok. I see
