Topaz Video AI v3.3.0

It sounds like you are referring to color shifting, which is still a work in progress.

Video AI should provide a setting that controls the number of CPU threads used.

Blue screen galore when processing more than 1 video at a time. This didn’t happen with the previous version. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Windows 11
Threadripper 3990x
RTX 4090

The sliders are less sensitive when using Iris compared to Proteus. This is by design, to make the auto model better.

Logs?

Gone when I reinstalled Topaz Video AI.

I’ve not tried processing more than one again since but I will try out in the next few days once my current processes finish.

Yes, Iris is a model for LQ material and is blurring the image a lot, even with 0 noise reduction, 0 compression reduction and 0 for dehaloing. And since there is not much detail left after the basic model, there is also not much to sharpen, so sharpen doesn’t do much.

Compared to Proteus, u have to set noise reduction to something like 80 to get similar loss of detail.
I hope that there will be an Iris model for MQ/HQ material in the future, similar to how there are 3 Artemis models, for LQ, MQ- and HQ.

So far, for anything but the lowest quality DVDs, I found Iris to be loosing too much detail, even with the new detail mixer feature.

Hi there - I scrolled through but could see if this is known Issue. I’m on OS X Catalina AMD Radeon - and Iris simply doest work. I just get a Red Cross message saying…
Please contact support.

Shame as I’ve been awaiting a new model for what seems like forever. Hopefully it is a quick fix or something I’m doing wrong at my end.

Can you post your logs and your full system profile?

Hi there - see are the logs

All the best,

I recommend to use relative to auto with Iris, and make the adjustments to that, specially turn dehalo to -100. Otherwise I found the results weren’t as good and impressive as i liked

After short tests, I see that the Iris model is only suitable for LQ video. With MQ you can see how it loses some small details.
After the first good impression, I discovered something else - the picture undulates like the sea. The woman rubs the stone, and the stone ripples. The car has a fogged window in the background and it is also waving. For the first 10 minutes of the movie, all time was constantly waving.
On the Proteus, it’s all beautifully stiff, just like the original.

Hi… I have tried the new model Iris, and I think that is very good. Anyway the other problems that I mentioned in the 3.2.9 version thread, are present in this version too. I am speaking about the strange attitude of probv2/v3 and dione dtd4 on the videos I posted. The effect is the same, when there are some distant shots or difficult details to reconstruct the software go all in with dehaloing (in 3.0.11 there wasn’t this problem). Fortunately, Iris model is not affected by this problem.

I have sent it via dropbox

PS: I am able to get preview with Iris; when I choose CPU processing. The blur occurs only with GPU (Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q Design)

For me, I’ve never found the output image to be blurrier than the source, only that you can’t dial in the sharpness as high as on Proteus.

I was initially happy with the Iris model when testing it in beta but I’ve noticed that it does a poor job on the long shots creating unusual artifacts like crossed eyes or spaces between teeth.

On close ups it’s very good.

On the right track but not good enough yet unfortunately.

Like some others I’ve also noticed the output image to be blurrier than the original with higher quality footage. Weird.

I’m a little confused by 2x and 4x. Is this referring to the output resolution? I typically like to upscale to 1080p…which is sometimes less than 4x, so am I not getting the full benefit?
