Changelog from 3.4.3:

• Model updates for Iris v2 and Nyx v1.
• Adds AV1 encoder for AMD 7000 series.
• Adds option to reset all preferences to defaults.
• Adds new “Advanced” tab section to preferences. More items will be added to this in the future.
• Adds change to copy all subtitle tracks for MKV exports. Support for more containers will be added in the future.
• Adds improvements to file size for dynamic high setting without sacrificing visual quality (targets 95 VMAF).
• Adds change making default dynamic option “High” - this should provide visually lossless results with optimal file size.
• Adds fix vastly improving responsiveness for live preview for MKV & WebM formats.
• Changes minimum preview duration to 0.5 seconds, which fixes some bugs that could happen with <10 fps videos.
• Fixes preview duration / frame count decreasing with each app restart.
• Fixes NVIDIA Tesla GPUs not showing encoder options.
• Fixes videos encoded with H265 from AMD GPUs not playing on iOS and macOS.
• Fixes output bitrate appearing on an output item when using a codec that does not use bitrate (ex. ProRes).
• Fixes bug making it impossible to seek by typing frame number after trimming.
• Fixes target bitrate in preferences displaying incorrect number.

Nyx Beta:

• A new model for denoising high-quality video.
• The focus of the model is on footage from high-quality cameras captured in less-than-ideal conditions.

Nyx Beta Updates:

• Improved quality.
• TensorRT models for more tile sizes.

Iris v2 Beta:

• Iris-v2 offers more details and sharpness.
• It uses TensorRT models for Nvidia GPUs and could result in a 50% speed-up.
• It also reduces the “previous frame’s ghost” artifacts.
• It reduces “marching ant” (diagonal movement of texture) artifacts, especially, for 1x and 2x.
• Try to play with the parameters if the “Auto” doesn’t give you the desired result.

Known Issues:

• Iris-v2’s performance could be further optimized for different input resolutions.
• Iris versions are not selectable with enabled previous model versions.
• Intel ARC is currently unsupported.
• Videos with mismatched metadata and streams will display incorrect duration
• Frame number preview length may shorten on app restart

There was a problem
1 .Turn on the second pass and turn it off after use.
Second pass becomes unavailable

2 .Even if the parameters were moved using the first pass, the parameters of the second pass were not inherited.

Still getting lines in the output on an M2 Mac with Iris. Same issue as with previous beta.

Again: try running TVAI under Rosetta -maybe this solves the lines problem (it does solve the extremely blurry pattern issue here).

The color alteration has not been fixed. Not willing to fix?

Thx for the tip, tried it with Rosetta, it does not help, neither the older beta or the current one

Pity. It solved Iris issues on the M2 Ultra here.

BTW, Iris 2x still is incredibly slow on Apple Silicon, only slightly faster than 4x (a “bug” that was introduced somewhere with the 3.4 Beta versions while the 3.4 alpha was blazingly fast).

And Nyx doesn’t even run, giving an immediate error in both, benchmark and actual encode.

@jacob.muchow – Topaz Video AI BETA 3.4.1.2.b I was getting 11.3fps, and with the last 3 updates I am only 6.2fps with the exact file and settings. I tested again with 3.4.4.0.b.

File 720p Iris auto 24Mbps as MP4

Working on an M1 Max Mac Studio 24GB ram and SSDs.

Please bring back whatever 2x speed boost was in 3.4.1.2.b!

You know that manual settings really depend on the footage and what the AI gets to see…

No same settings are perfect for all footage

I can’t remember if I ever mentioned that the preview gets stuck including the preview slider and also the upper progress bar during processing, so I would like to mention it now.

Iris 2 seems to have an issue with text (Japanese character in this case)
Is there plan for an option like Photo AI to preserve text?
