When export is pressed, an output item will always be added even if there is an error. This should improve batch processing workflows in case of errors.
Replaces “video export” option in preferences with some more clear options. Detailed tooltips are shown in-app to explain implications for the options. Behavior will not change from your previous setting for this option.
Adds toggle for “live preview” to exports to easily turn on/off live preview for exports.
Fixes “Encoder Profile” option in export preferences to show your saved option correctly when opening preferences.
Fixes “Audio Codec” list in export preferences to be correctly filtered by chosen “Extension” option.
Adds back “videoai” metadata tag on exported videos.
Fixes error copying AAC audio with ADTS headers from M2TS video source.
Handle error when trying to copy TrueHD audio from to MP4/MOV container.
Fixes “back to input” - will always return you to the input video corresponding to the current output video.
Known Issues:
Videos with mismatched metadata and streams will display incorrect duration
Frame number preview length may shorten on app restart
Export settings from old presets might not be applied correctly. Try creating a new preset if this happens to you.

Please make “Export As” the default option! The output file is being saved to an unknown location: It is not where I told it to be via “export as” or where I set the default path in the preferences and it is also not where the source file is located. When I tell the app to open the destination path via “show in explorer” menu nothing happens. Edit: I found the temporary file in the previews folder of the application but it is no longer saved a temp file to the export path!
How about TVAI remembers the last selection (Export / Export As) and keep it that way (even after TVAI restart) until the user changes it / selects the other option? For example: if I load a video(s) and ready to export and I select “Export As” and select the Directory to save the file(s) at, from now on Export As (and the chosen directory) is my default every time i use/load TVAI.
if I select different Directory at a later stage, that Dir would be now my next location by default. and so on.
If I then at some point select “Export” (after I worked with Export As for a while), then from now on “Export” would be used / the one i would see by default every time i fire up TVAI.
basically, “remember last state” and continue using last state every time until changed (and the change would become the new last state)…It is a very common practice on many applications in the industry. “Remember last state” - Last state = default
the other Changelog categorization common in the industry is, to sort it by “Add” (like new features) “removed”, “enhanced/changed/improved” (whatever wording you want to use to describe an improvement of an existing function) & fixed. that also would make it more orderly fashion
Added: toggle for “live preview” to exports to easily turn on/off live preview for exports.

Mac Studio Ultra 64GB - I’m getting a lot of Out of Memory errors with this beta. Exactly the same settings as I used in the previous beta. I’m not doing anything too spectacular either!! Just a 50fps to 25fps Chronus Fast 720p to 1080 FHD with Iris, noise 1 and recover 20. Memory is set to 80% but I’ve also tried 100% & 50%, same thing
Yes it does, but we install new alpha, beta or final versions all few days and every time again I have to set all my preferences again and I often forget that the export option reset too when clicking on it so my first step in any new version after accidebtly choosing “export” is to immediately stop processing again, search for the temp file to delete it and then switch to “export as” to start new at the location i want right now -.-
EDIT: I’ve now converted from 50 to 25fps in Handbrake, so I’m now only using the Iris model as per above settings, lets see what happens on this render…
I know it’s doing clever stuff with Iris and the output is impressive but 4.4fps… sheesh!
FYI - OOM error again! So I’ve set it to 10% as you suggested and I’m processing again. Man your fps is WAY better than mine, there’s not THAT much difference between the M1 & M2 Ultra’s… or maybe there is‽!
I’ve only got Safari & Mail running at the same time, yes I know there’s a zillion background processes as well… but you know what I’m getting at, heh! Ooh I wonder if it’s the MalwareBytes process that’s causing it… hmmm…
EDIT: Now this IS interesting!! I deleted the BETA app, and instead of dragging it in from the DMG as I usually do (with a new BETA, replacing the older BETA) I decided to use the pkg file instead. Get this… set memory to 10%, setup my Iris model settings, and now it’s FLYING at 11.6fps!!! Not 4.4fps as it was before. Let’s hope that this has fixed my OOM error as well eh‽! How very odd!
EDIT 2: I also turned off Live Preview this time as well. If this render works then I’ll switch it back on for the next one, see if that makes any difference.
EDIT 3: Annnnnnd I still have the damm OOM error, grrrrrr!!! Almost got to the very end, on Iris model only, and it errored out as before sobs hard tears Although to be fair, it DID complete one render, it’s when I tried to do another one it bombed out on me with the OOM error. If I reboot my Mac after EVERY render then it works… not good.
Well, something strange is going on at your rig.
Topaz did not crash once here with the last three versions.
And I’m doing quite some tasks together with TVAI, e.g. handbrake but also daily work, RDP - heck even running Windows on Parallels.
Maybe it really is the antivirus software interfering?
