Topaz Video AI 6.1.2 + 6.1.3

That’s really poor from Topaz. Potentially disastrous, too - I’ve had complete system failures in the past after using Revo to uninstall older software versions. As a result, I now completely unistall Topaz products before installing new ones. Tedious, but a lot safer!

I have a pretty huge issue on the latest version of Video AI. When I upscale a prores video from 1080p to 2160p to an EXR file sequence, at the end of the processing, it deletes the whole folder with the EXR in it. I’ve experienced it on my desktop AND laptop. The folder and the files are created, but once processing is done, they’re gone! I’ll downgrade to the previous version in the meantime, but this is a huge huge problem.

Yep, same problem. I’m surprised to have such a broken update.

Hi everyone, 6.1.3 patch available now with image sequence exports fixed!

Also resolved the text formatting issues with very specific Windows display resolutions/scale settings

The manbear. hehe

Has the Variable frame rate issue been corrected. Even though I use Apollo and choose a frame rate the export always has an incorrect VFR instead of a correct CFR

Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever had a problem with evo uninstaller. But maybe they’re hidden xd.

It’s pretty reliable. The only time I’ve ever had an issue with it was when I went back and uninstalled a bunch of old Topaz software versions. No idea what it did exactly but it left my system unbootable and I had to reinstall it from a backup. Mind you, I think I had the ‘search for traces’ bit at the most aggressive setting - that might have been my mistake!

Yes, maybe the aggressive mode is too much. Personally, I look for any remaining traces manually. It’s safer .

I second this, it’s a very useful feature that I find extremely annoying has been broken again.

Has anyone been successful in getting to choose a “workspace folder” other than the default? After all these updates, it still will not use the folder I choose on any external drive that I have connected. Or any other folder area in the internal drive.

I have also the same bug in the new update of TVAI.

I’ve gone back to 6.1 since I cannot do anything in this version, i have side by side set for preview and I find it sometimes carries on creating the live preview after I have pressed stop, the only way to stop it is to change an option, which appears to reset it, or close the program. Other times, it says it’s live previewing and ffmpeg is using 98% of my GPU but the two videos (original + enhanced) are exactly the same, you can’t see the result of the enhancement, most often it will preview but stops every second and you have to constantly hit the play button, even for sections it has already created (altho sliding along the preview bar will show the enhanced video).
Basically it’s a complete mess right now I have no idea what they have done.

I have this same problem. Whenever I choose to render a “x second” preview, as soon as I press play, live rendering beyond the “x second” section starts and the app becomes nearly unresponsive (particularly if you are comparing 2 enhancements side by side). In this latest version the live rendering may continue until the entire video is rendered in the preview window with the preview settings. It can’t always be halted by pressing play/pause. This behavior has been since at least version 6.01, although the last update is worse in this regard.

Now that the preview queue has been restored, I would really like to have back the old 5.x preview scheme in which you can do multiple previews of x seconds all along the timeline and each one has a loop/looping setting so you can review them just by moving the cursor to them.

I started only 1 video with the new 6.1.3 before going to bed.
My preview wasn’t working.
I didn’t see any “processing” during the creation of the preview, but in the “preview tab” it did say processing.
After the preview is finished, there is no green line for the processed part.

I started the process anyhow.
I will look here to see if I’m the only one.
I hope it gets fixed soon, because normally I can’t work without previewing first.

Yup, same. If I have a 10 sec preview it plays for 2 or 3 and stops. I hit play again and get another 2 or 3 seconds. Annoying.

Are time codes for ProRes exports ever going to get fixed? It has been an issue for quite a while now where ProRes exports are exported without a timecode. In file explorer the length shows as 00:00:00. To fix it I have to do an FFMPEG repair on the file to restore the time code for EVERY ProRes export.

Have you guys started working on a fix for Proteus v4 yet? There’s still a huge problem with dark areas; it creates weird purple and green hues and strange artifacts. It’s less pronounced with 2x upscale, but still.
