Topaz Video AI 5.2.1 Freezes on export

New install on Windows 11, dxdiag included. AVI uncompressed video as input, attempting to go from 24 fps to 30 - have tried Chronos and Chronos Fast, and others. Doesn’t seem to matter on the AI model chosen. Application halts all threads on hitting the ‘Export As’ button. Application does not return, task manager states that all threads are in wait.

Steps to reproduce issue:

  1. Load avi
  2. Choose 30 fps as your frame rate
  3. Hit the ‘Export As’ button

Please be aware of stability issues of Intels processors of the 13th and 14th generations confirmed by Intel:

https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-core-i9-13900k-14900k-stability-issues-drive-game-server-providers-to-amd#:~:text=Reports%20of%20system%20crashes%2C%20blue,just%20BIOS%20or%20microcode%20updates.

The CPU in this case in an i7 Xeon. I wonder if its an GPU issue, as this is a Quadro A5000, not a more traditional consumer RTX one.

Mine is doing this after last update. Never had this problem before and my i9-13900K is not crashing ever since Mobo Firmware update a few months back. It is only happening after the last update.
I am using an RTX 2080 TI

Back when I had the stability issues the PC would freeze. But with this problem, I can kill Topaz Video and the system is still running fine.

I cannot reproduce this on a commercial RTX platform (4080). Perhaps this is a Quadro issue?

I have the same issue. I narrowed it down to whenever I export to a network drive. This worked fine in the previous version

Good catch, let me try that. The movie is on a NFS mount, and the output was local. I’ll try moving the source as well.

Awesome I am so glad I came back here to check for comments - yes I have 10Gb Network storage array. Moved files local and all good.

Can confirm. Source on a network drive leads to a crash on export. If the file is local, no crash.

This is purely an issue with Topaz Video not working with network drives.

Can confirm here too. Been dealing with Topaz freezing every time I hit export and it’s on a network drive.

I can confirm this too, and it has nothing to do with CPU/GPU
