Topaz Video AI 5.0

Sure yeah, how exactly do I send to the support team?

No, would you mind sending us support logs so we could check it out?

On my M2 MacBook Air, I can no longer find the setting for choosing CPU or the M2 GPU. I’ve looked at all entries in Settings. Is it gone for Macs?

I am doing two disparate enhancement/upscales.

One is a 720 x 480 mp4 2x upscale with Iris and Proteus Enhancement and interpolating to 30 fps outputting to 16 bit .tiff

The second is an 810 x 540p mkv with a 2x upscale and Artemis enhancement and interpolating to 30fps outputting to 265 mp4.

When I try to enter the second one, the program identifies it as 740 x 480 (it is not) AND it tries to process the first file using the second’s parameters to an mp4.

I terminated the processing of the first file with the second files parameters.

The second processing has not started after ten minutes.

This needs to be fixed.

I have the logs whenever you’re ready to receive.

saving an image sequence ignores the start number you set and uses the actual frame number instead, this needs to be corrected

Well done, took you long enough.
resubscribed.

Just installed 5.01 and found that this version is full of bugs, friends. I don’t even know where to start reporting.

Guess, it’s better for me to switch back to 4.2.2. to continue working and come back later on, say when version 5.2 has been released.

Cheers

Just stabalize a video only…and then do the file with your preset and disable stabilization in order to use pause/resume.

Hopefully Topaz is implementing pause/resume also for stabilization.

I must state that the icon is ugly, it is better the one from the prededent version, a feature appreciated at the end of the process would be to set Standby/Hibernate/Shutdown/Nothing.

It gave me the correct reading when using other software, including the older version of Video Enhanced AI and Gigapixel etc.

Still bad that the speed results from a 4080 to 4090 are almost the same is considering the spec differences. I remember the huge performance boost when I upgraded from a 980Ti to a 1080Ti on the old Video Enhanced AI. Miss the days when softball used all the hardware power.

I’ll look at the software you recommended, thank you.

looks loke FPS reduced with my 4080 super use to get more FPS on the exports now is reduced around 40% is tthere a way to rollback the update?

I think should be released until all bugs are fixed and tested in beta mean while

Why did they changed the logo!?!? (again)
Unless they’re going to change (again) the UI, to something green this time.

I hope they finally make up their minds about the aesthetics of the app, which is really irrelevant, what they should do is focus on improving the performance of the models, use TensorRT properly and fix such strange things as TVAI consuming CPU to the max even if you have chosen NVENC in the export settings.

PS: If they’re so bothered by TVAI’s aesthetics, they should be concerned about meeting aesthetic standards across the entire Topaz suite… why is the interface in Photo AI blue and not the same styles in general to begin with?

Conclusion, they don’t know what to do.

At least we can now pause processes, which is a small step forward. Hopefully the day will come when we will be able to use TVAI taking full advantage of the power of the graphics cards, and it won’t be a CPU bottleneck.

The program does not finish exporting. It stopped almost at the end. It has been like this for many hours (I left it overnight yesterday). The processor or graphics card is not being used during this time. There is plenty of disk space.

Well said, pause is a much needed step.

I’ll still wait to update a few more patches and I agree with you, I’d rather see dedicated performance updates so the cpu is less of the overall bottleneck.

Looks like topaz changed the ui/ux to look more similar to gigapixel etc. Hopefully the workflow changes actually improve things and don’t convolute it all more.

It’s always best to read the comments here first before updating. Thank you all!

The core competence is the efficiency of video enhancement. In other words, speed of processes, quality of models, functionality, simple, logical workflows. Everything else is an add-on. I don’t know anyone who buys a program because of a nice layout. LOL

I’m not going to pay double to renew just because I waited a week. So, I’ll sit this one out.

So far, it’s the exact same bug-fest and flood of UI change complaints as the last two version releases.
To me it feels like, in the allotted one year limit update lifespan (Not talking about license, but development), TVAI 4 got less bugs fixed than TVAI 3. Sure some of the bugs from 3 got carried over to 4 and were fixed, but also, a few of the old ones that got fixed in 3 reemerged in 4. I expect the same to happen in 5.

Hello everyone!!) I installed the test version. I really liked the changed interface design, it became more friendly and many useful features were added. (I won’t list it). It doesn’t matter what the program logo is!! You are behaving like children or like delusional people who don’t care how the program works, the main thing is that the button is beautiful!)) Don’t distract the developers over trifles. I’m trying tests on the same file and with the same settings in Topaz, so my MBP 16 M1 Pro used to process this file at 3.5 fps/sec., Now it’s 8.5-9 fps/sec. and this is more important to me than the changed program icon.
Thank you for reading my text.))
P.S. When will the plugin for FCPX be available? )
