What? All that time for this? No new models? Very disappointing. Really ? Frankly, the Topaz video store used to be much better because you often released new models, and now there’s nothing. Frankly, it’s shameful. Goodbye Topaz.
First, thank you for releasing today’s patch addressing the crashing issue on macOS 27. I appreciate the team’s efforts to resolve the problem and restore the application’s stability.
I wanted to ask whether Topaz Labs is considering offering any goodwill compensation to customers who have been affected by this issue, such as a credit toward their next license renewal or complimentary cloud rendering credits.
For those of us who have been running macOS 27 since its official release on September 14, this issue has been particularly frustrating. We’ve experienced several weeks of crashes and interruptions that have significantly affected our ability to use software we’ve paid for and rely on for our video enhancement workflows.
I think offering a modest credit or another goodwill gesture would be a meaningful way for Topaz Labs to acknowledge the inconvenience, demonstrate appreciation for its loyal customers, and reinforce its commitment to customer satisfaction.
It comes as no surprise whatsoever that Aion 16x slow-mo is still not fixed - at least on my M3 Ultra.
EDIT: And the stabilisation tile effect bug is still present (no surprise there either).
And of course it goes without saying that in-app Low Power mode is still not working on M1 to M3-Ultra Macs FOR MORE THAN A YEAR! But it still works in the old TVAI.
Strangely, I noticed from another post that in-app Low Power mode IS working in Topaz Video for the M6 (maybe M5 as well?)
In my opinion, there is no need for a constant stream of new models, nor is it necessary to release updates for models that are already working well.
HOWEVER: I, for one, was expecting significantly more from this update!
There are errors in the SLP model (VRAM-related), as well as issues with the estimated duration of the rendering process and in other modules—flaws that could actually be fixed quite easily these days with the help of AI. And, frankly, as a paying user, that is what I expect.
In any case, this update has left me disappointed.
In version 1.7.2, the “Precise 2.6” processing frequently stops. Stability has clearly worsened compared to 1.7.1. I have rolled back to 1.7.1. It is very disappointing.
