Topaz Photo v1.3.2-v1.3.3

Hello! This release adds AMD GPU support for Wonder 2 local rendering. We’re also introducing SSO for Enterprise, making it easier for teams to login to their applications without managing separate credentials. Plus a fix for bugs due to locale issues on Windows and batch processing errors.

Hotfix v1.3.3:

  • Fixed login issue
  • Fixed errors with RAW Denoise
  • Fixed errors with Remove and Spot Healing

Below is what’s included in the Topaz Photo v1.3.2 release:

  • Wonder 2 Local Render for AMD: AMD GPU users on Windows can now run Wonder 2 entirely on their own device
  • SSO for Enterprise: Log in to Topaz Photo using your company’s identity provider. Email enterprise@topazlabs.com for more details.

You can find the installer links and the full changelog below for this version of Topaz Photo. For any issues, make sure to send us an email to support@topazlabs.com

Wonder 2 Local Render for AMD

When we launched Wonder 2 local rendering, we rolled it out first for NVIDIA GPUs and Apple Silicon. AMD has been the most-requested addition since, and today it joins the lineup.

Local rendering means your images stay on your machine with no upload times, no cloud dependency, and secure local processing. Wonder 2 runs directly using your AMD GPU, with similar output quality to the cloud version. If you’ve been waiting on this one, it’s here.

As a reminder, local rendering is now supported on:

  • AMD GPUs: 8GB VRAM or more required for dedicated GPU. 24GB RAM or more required for integrated GPU.
  • NVIDIA GPUs: 8GB VRAM or more required.
  • Apple Silicon: 12GB RAM or more required.

A note on your first run: the first time you use Wonder 2 locally, the application will need to unpack the model. This may take a few extra minutes. Subsequent runs will be significantly faster.

SSO for Enterprise

Enterprise teams can now sign in to Topaz Photo using their company’s existing identity provider. Simply login with SSO and the application will detect then connect to your company login page.

Wonder 2 local resolution is very low at 2x magnification, the image is full of jagged edges; 4x is normal.

I saw the small update. It’s useless for me, since I’m on NVIDIA and everything else related to bug fixes works perfectly on my machine.

Also, here’s something that’s going to be interesting with this NVIDIA driver update.

In principle, Wonder 2 will be better managed due to the optimization for Neurostream.

Thank you: Here’s Windows 11 in French:
I haven’t tested all the models, but Dust & Scratch, Wonder 2, Wonder 1, and Super Focus now work locally.
Everything works well with the Nvidia Studio diver 595.79-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql.exe.

That is correct, the model is optimized to give better results at 4x.

In theory, wonder 2 with stream and server should be able to use multig gpu processing and pool memory.

A 32GB Radeon Pro R9700 is much less expensive than a 32GB RTX 5090.

Just wanted to report back that with the new Photo v1.3.2, everything is working. All models load properly, and Recover v3 no longer produces those honeycomb/hexagon artifacts.

Here’s what I did: I applied the settings shown in the screenshots, then used DDU in Safe Mode to completely remove the old Nvidia driver, and did a clean install of the new RTX 5090 driver from here.

Wonder v2 works nicely on some images, though it struggles a bit with ones that have excessive noise combined with compression artifacts. Haven’t done extensive testing on that yet.

The honeycomb artifacts with Recover v3 are also gone in Gigapixel now. Up until about an hour ago, I was having issues with Recover v3 in both applications.

A couple of other things I changed: my system locale/region was set to Serbian, so I switched it, and I also enabled UTF-8 in the regional administrative settings just to be safe. That’s caused issues for me in the past with some open-source projects, so I figured it couldn’t hurt.

Combined with the new driver, everything seems to be running smoothly now. The only thing left is to switch my region back to Serbian and disable the UTF-8 setting to see if maybe it was simply the new Nvidia driver that fixed everything.

How are things going for the rest of you?

It looks like everything is in order now. My sincere apologies to the Topaz team if I raised too much of an alarm :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:. Cheers!

3 posts were split to a new topic: Honeycomb issue with Recover 3 on foreign computers

Hello, I can’t activate Topaz Photo. I updated the software with an error, so I had to completely uninstall Topaz Photo. After reinstalling it, I can’t activate it anymore. ???

Best regards from Vienna

We are working on a fix for the login issue and errors with Raw Denoise. We are also investigating a Remove issue causing a black output.

After fixing the “models not loading” issue in 1.3.1. with the aiengine.dll which I received from support staff, I’m back to the same issue with 1.3.2. - tried to overwrite with the aiengine.dll I received, but this didn’t work?

Can you send us the logs? DM or to support@topazlabs.com?

Face Recovery with Creative settings is working now. Good.

Thank you, this was shared with the development team for the honeycomb ticket. This Region setting also causes other issues being worked on.

Installed this last night. Using the remove tool to remove an object turns the entire image black. It’s removing everything?
