Actually, I can see a face looking up and to the left. Hair, Eyebrows, Nose, One Ear, Pursed Lips, and Chin.
@Imo - Does it occur with the original as well? If so, can you DM me the original and I can relay to the development team? Send both the original and the TIF and I can relay!
Thanks for the example. As Andy mentioned, seems there is features detected in the branches that the AI is detecting as a face. If you only edit landscapes you can turn off Recover Faces in Preferences too to avoid it from being added by Auto-Pilot!
the original image has issues in some of these areas and the areas around the light, door and gas access are not in focus. Using a upscale to fix the out of focus areas and it can help. Iāve relayed the file to the development team as well so they know for when they make Adjust Lighting changes too. This below is the NEF, pushed extreme in LrC to show the areas on the left/right are reflections already in the file:
Yes, I mentioned they are less noticeable when you do upscale. you mentioned āother areasā and I was just mentioning the reflections in case. The file was passed on to the development team for their knowledge for when they do updates on that AI model! Thanks for flagging!
4.0.1 was released on 5/31. 4.0.2 was released on 6/19, but it was only a bug fix for Nvidia 50 series GPUs.
I am just wondering if development has stopped on Photo AI? Are any more releases planned? Thank you.
Seems they are currently focusing on Bloom and ignoring their other products, similar to what they did with Denoise and Sharpen AI when Photo AI was introduced.
How and when will PhotoAIās development continue? The last version is five weeks old, and in the meantime, there was only a minor bug fix for NVidia RTX 50 cards.
Iām due to renew my subscription soon. However, if thereās no further development, I donāt see any reason to renew.
there is a reminder appearing on photo ai counting down the days to renewel date .it is most annoying and at what has been updated in the last couple of months there is no need to pay for upgrades.please get rid of it
@Tostanica-fezanamu - The development team is hard at work for an upcoming patch that will be fixing important batch processing issues for both Mac and Windows, plugin issues on Macs, and other fixes. Then will come support for the popular request for ARM Qualcomm machines - and they are continuing to work on new features to implement as well. While we usually like to release an update every 2 weeks or so, it will not always be the case. Currently planning the patch for Mid August and new feature updates in the near future. Stay tuned!
@axel.matthies - You can try the new features when they are released in trial mode (no export) and see if you want to update or not!
@foxtommie - The reminder is to let you know you expire on 08-23 in your case. You can renew from your āMy Products" page. We donāt see a Photo AI subscription on our side, only a Gigapixel one. You can contact support@topazlabs.com if you purchased a Subscription, with the order number, and they can merge it on your correct account if it was purchased on another email.
i do not need a reminder .
I can add a feature request for the development team to mute it. However, at the vey popular user request at Support it was added. Thanks for your suggestion and Iāll relay to the development team!
I donāt need such an reminder too.
Maybe it is possible to make it configurable whether the reminder is displayed or not.
I relayed to the development team as a feature request! You can also add it in the Ideas Forum for other users to vote on.
Iām sorry, I have updated to 4.0.2 several times. When I get to batch processing image 35, the app quits and crashes. I have a 2024 M4 iMac with 32 GB RAM, and Iām currently running Sequoia 15.6, having previously used Sequoia 15.5. Support informs me that the only new feature in the current release is the added support for NVIDIA chips in Windows, with no changes in the Mac version. Iām not a chip designer, nor a software engineer! What I can tell you is that a clean installation of the latest 4.0.2 fails to get beyond 35 images 100% of the time. On the other hand, 4.0.0 and 4.0.1 work flawlessly!
I have no idea why this is, other than the M4 chip (ARM-based) has no use for the NVIDIA additions in the installer.
Support told me to stop trying to update until 4.5 is released. What I can say now is that Iām going to take a long, hard look at 4.5 before even considering it. Why tamper with something good just to get an update?
4.5? That could be a very long time in the future. 4.0.2 is the current version and it came out on 6/19. At some point there will be 4.1.0, 4.2.0, 4.3.0, 4.4.0, and finally 4.5.0. And some of those will have 4.?.? releases too. It has been almost 8 weeks since 4.0.2 was released so 4.5.0 might be months and months away.
Was 4.5 a typo?
No mistake here, see the quoted email below.:

Hi John!
Thanks for the note! Just to clarifyāwhen you mention āSnapdragon parts,ā did you mean that your system is optimized around the ARM architecture in general?
The good news is: M-Series Macs have been compatible for quite some time, and weāre continuing to improve performance there. In fact, weāre releasing a Photo AI version optimized for ARM (Apple Silicon) very soon!
And yesāsome users on M-Series systems did experience issues with v4.0.2, which is why our team suggested holding off for v4.5. It should bring better stability and performance across the board.
Let me know if I understood correctly or if I was way off the mark!
Best,

Iām happy, with a little retouching of my drawing with krita to improve the edges, topaz photo ai helped me a lot ![]()
Hmm, that is very strange. You might want to contact support again and verify they really meant 4.5. At the rate Topaz is updating Photo AI it is doubtful 4.5 would be in 2025. Maybe 2026. I have used 4 different Topaz apps, including Photo AI, for years and I have never seen them go from 4.0.2 to 4.5 without intervening release numbers.
