Hi, updated from previous version - running Mac Studio - but this update will only run Denoise’. Crashes immediately when attempting to use ā€˜Recover Faces’ or other enhancements. Previous versions - ran flawlessly, but this has rendered Topaz Photo unusable… Has anyone else encountered this?
Also attempted to contact Topaz to alert them but don’t appear to be interested at all.

Are you saying Topaz replied and didn’t appear to be interested at all or is it Topaz just haven’t got back to you because, it’s the weekend and everyone entitled to a break

Could be either or both but most major co.s will respond fast. Tried via several channels but didn’t get anything. Maybe I’m expecting too much, as I am of Photo 3(!) - expecting updates to be at least as effective as previous versions. I’ve now rolled back to a 3.4 version from december last year, that works across all enhancements (as have all previous versions), it doesn’t crash so I’d guess that it’s a glitch in this latest update. But - in spite of what you note re. weekend etc., I’d expect something, acknowledgement at least in response. My payments go out to them, at any time of day / night / holiday etc…

I’m more a windows type so I don’t know which mac hardware/os is which, but have you tried the coreml fix? [KNOWN ISSUE: MAC OS 15 CRASH] - Steps to solve this here - #9 by HoffaTime?

Thanks, that sounds very similar. I’ve now rolled back to a 3.4 level version and that works fine across all enhancements, doesn’t crash. But is was this latest 3.5.2 update which started the problem. I’ll see if this helps, but a bit reluctant to go back to the 3,5 level now that the 3.4 is going OK, as I’m not entirely confident that this will fix the problem, but have to try…

It’s frustrating when software doesn’t cooperate!

Here are a couple of steps you can try to temporarily resolve the crashing issue with Topaz Photo AI Recover Faces on your Mac Studio:

Delete the CoreML Cache Folder:
Here’s the information from Ange at Topaz Support

Disable Face Recovery:
In the Photo AI Preferences Menu, disable the Face Recovery feature under Autopilot settings.

This can help bypass the crash until Topaz Support contact you

Hope this helps

Just used V3.5.2 and had two crashes. Win 11 Pro, RX5600XT GPU (6GB mem), Ryzen 7 5800X CPU, 32GB RAM. Here are the logs from the two crashes.

@Artisan-West
This can be caused by an outdated driver. Make sure send to support@topazlabs.com your System Profile and we can have a look: How To Obtain Your System Profile (Windows)

I also see you are forcing in AI Processor in Edit > Preferences > AI Processor for the AMD card to be used, make sure to put this back to the default Auto. You can also test CPU and it can give you a clue if the issue is the graphic card.

Feature Request: allow users to change camera profile for Raw images

E.g. so that user could select Flat or Neutral profile in TPAI, even though raw image was shot with Camera Standard selected.
